Toyota Crown in China

The S150 Crown was first built as a sedan and later a hardtop both of which were built on same chassis. The trim levels for hardtop variant comprise of two saloon body types which have 4WD and are offered with three petrol engine options consisting of 2.0 liter, 2.5 liter and 3.0 liter capacities with 6 cylinder and manual transmission mechanism.  Toyota’s S150 is a tenth generation Crown model which was offered for sale within Japan and South East Asian markets and was built between 1995 and 1999 with a long sweeping body line and artistic tyres.  All Toyota Crown models which were built during this period are characterized by special badge which is prominently displayed on its C pillar and as a super saloon this car has more luxury features.

To propel its large and powerful body forward, Toyota has powered the 3.0 S150 Crown saloon with 3.0 liter petrol engine which has output of 220hp and maximum torque of 298 Nm which together help the car maintain speed of 200kmph. The long body also includes a spacious boot design and rear lights around lower section of boot cover which is spread in three strip design. Since the Toyota 3.0 S150 Crown saloon is an old vintage model it now only found with collectors and car enthusiasts who can maintain this car in great condition.  Its front profile is simple and elegant with wide chrome encrusted horizontal grille which sits neat between large headlights which have side indicators built into them.

The current range of Toyota Crown models belong to fourteenth generation and have a less bulky body in keeping with current trend of sleek designs and light structure as it will make them more fuel efficient.  Its engine is also more efficient and is powered by both diesel and petrol engines though a few years ago it would have been unthinkable to install a diesel power train in a luxury car. The latest model is called Royal series and was launched in 2012 as a sedan model.  The interior comforts of new Crown series now consist of leather seats, leather covered steering wheel and gear stick along with chrome outline around central console. In keeping with modern times the latest models also have touch screen which controls multiple operations within its interiors like audio, seat adjustment, opening boot and fuel tank covers, parking sensors and navigational commands.

The offered limited edition body paint option for the Crown sedan is called the electric-fuchsia, which is actually a great bright shade of pink. The world’s leading car company is reportedly going to take the order for the Electric Fuchsia Crown only from the 1st date of the month of September and only till the end of the same month. With this vibrant and snazzy color option, the Japanese car major wishes to attract young and spunky customers rather than drawing the usual middle aged car consumers. This special edition bright pink color will also be available exclusively on only two model trims, namely the Athlete G model of gasoline V6 variant and the hybrid model.

In fact this brilliant pink body color option or the Electric Fuchsia special edition Crown sedan was introduced in the month of November in 2012, when this quality car received an upgrade from its maker. Toyota Motors has yet not announced the price tag for the Electric Fuchsia limited edition color. The current available model of the V6 Crown starts from JPY5,130,000, which is equivalent to US $51,400 according to the present exchange rates.

Apart from introducing bright pink color options Toyota has done several things for the first time in the global auto market. This Japanese car maker is synonymous with new innovative and fresh thinking. Toyota had also recently showcased its fully customizable build it yourself car which the kids and parents can share and enjoy together, not only while riding it but also spend quality time together while building it.
The pioneer of green cars, Toyota had been the first auto maker to make the hybrid cars available for the general mass and now is trying hard to also become the first to offer an affordable Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) to the global auto consumers.
