The Toyota Crown makes a grand appearance after being washed out by the Lexus in early 90’s. The Crown recently shocked the public in Japan with its glaring pink appearance.
The standard model, the Crown Royal is a powerful 2.5-litre V6 engine which yields an impressive 200 hp and 243 Nm of torque attached to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The higher featured crown is fitted with an 8-speed automatic transmission. There is a hybrid model with a 2.5-litre engine connected to an eclectic motor which renders 176hp and 221 Nm torque. The petrol engine is available in the four-wheel drive option, while the hybrid has only the rear-wheel drive option.
The interior is soaked in luxury with premium leather and wood panels plastered all over. The interior is designed with pioneering technology and cutting-edge safety with an adaptive High Beam System, Panoramic View Monitor, Pre-collision System and Intelligent Clearance Sonar. The Toyota Crown is unlikely to hit the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets.
The original Toyota Crown was introduced back in 1955, and the Japanese automaker has now introduced the 14th generation series in ‘Royal’ and ‘Athlete’ trim levels.
