Toyota Kirloskar Motor registers 12,000+ car sales in the month of September 2012

The Japanese Car maker recorded an impressive sale of 12,115 units this September. Toyota has a strong hold in the Indian market and all the vehicles from their portfolio are segment leaders both in terms of quality and sales. The Innova, the Camry, Corolla, Fortuner, Etios and the Etios Liva all are great vehicles and are very popular in the Indian market. Even these sales were however five per cent less that the sales recorded at the same period last year i.e. 12,807 units. This marginal dip was due to the unstable financial situation of the Indian and international market. The sales are expected to even higher with the festive season nearby.

The Innova registered an increase in sales of 235 by over 5,858 units being sold this year compared to 4,765 units being sold last year. Toyota’s most popular and best-selling car, the Innova is also the best MUV in the country in terms of ride quality, built quality, comfort and reliability. To add another boost to the sales, last week Toyota launched the all new Innova Aero Limited Edition with 1200units on sale till the end of 2012. The Aerodynamic and sporty designed Innova making it look more of an SUV than an MUV will be available in the price range of Rs.12, 25,667 to Rs.12, 30,207. The Aero produces a maximum power output of 102PS.

The Fortuner, one of the best SUV’s in the country also registered a whopping 21 per cent growth in sales this year with 1,301 units sold this year, compared to last year’s 1,078 units. The Fortuner is Toyota’s high end SUV and even in conditions of slow market, a growth of 21 per cent is a remarkable achievement.

The Etios Series though, registered a drop I sales from 5,926 units last year to 4,440 units this year this decrease can be credited to the launch of various other small cars launched this year. The Larger Sedans Camry and Corolla both Registered Growths with the former registering sales of 85 units and the latter 424 units. Also, the long awaited Toyota Camry sedan 7th edition is priced at an impressive Rs 23.8Lakh price tag and uses the “LEAD BY EXAMPLE” tag line. The company recovered for its domestic losses with the help of exports, with the company selling 2,176 units of Etios series to South African Markets during the last month.

Overall drop in sales is soon expected to be revamped by the arriving festival season and also, the newly launched Innova Aero would take the sales of Innova to one more step and that of the Camry would add more impetus to the sedan market with its pure quality.
