Toyota Kirloskar Motor to form new Organisation Structure

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited (TKM) plans to announce its New Organisational structure which will be effective from January 1st 2013. The change in the functioning of the company was announced by Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, TKM. The reason for the new organisation is to strengthen the committee to strongly reflect TKM’s vision, and fasten the process of decision making.

The New Committee introduced is Mr. Shekar Vishwanathan will play the role of Vice Chairman, External Affairs. Mr. Sandeep Singh, will hold the post of Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. His new role allocates him to head Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Commercial Divisions. Mr. Masanori Takahashi, will be offered the role of Deputy Managing director and Chief Operating Officer. His new role will be to head Manufacturing, Technical, Purchase and Vendor Development along with supplier support.  The newly formed executives will be actively involved in the company’s board of Directors.

Mr. Shigeru Tomonaga who currently holds the Deputy Managing Director post, Manufacturing, will now hold the position of Executive Advisor to the TKM Board of Directors and Chief of Supplier Support Center.  Commenting on the re-organisation Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, TKM, said ‘’As we expand our business in India, we require our team to engage in new roles and responsibilities. I extend my best wishes to my colleagues for their new undertaking.’’

Toyota Kirloskar Motor currently has over 6,000 employees with a land area of approximately 432 acres and a building area of 74,000 m2. The first plant was established in October 1997 in Bangalore and the production started in 1999. The products manufactured were Innova, Fortuner manufactured in India. Prado, Land Cruiser and Prius imported as CBUs. The second plant started its production in December 2010 and the products manufactured were Corolla Altis, Etios, Etios Liva, New Camry.
