Toyota expects to set a benchmark record of sales of 9.7 million vehicles this year, compared to its bouncy sales last year. The company has set a steeper target of 9.91 million vehicles for 2013. The figures indicate a striking comeback of Toyota Motor Corp.’s from the disruptive sales last year due to earthquakes and Tsunami in north eastern Japan, which completely shook the global production sales.
Another unsatisfactory encounter was the massive recall of vehicles in 2009, mainly in North America. The company recently announced the clearance of more than $ 1 billion to settle hundreds of lawsuits from Toyota owners after the decline of the value of trucks and cars in the event of recall to solve many unnoticed acceleration problems in Toyota vehicles.
Under the agreement which is yet to receive approval from U.S. district judge; Toyota plans to offer cash payments to sold vehicles between September 2009 and December 2010.
