The concept car XA-Alpha was showcased at the prestigious 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The car will be launched at a price below 10 lakhs; the theme behind the car’s name is interesting and unique. The terms’ X’ is referred to as crossover, and A symbolizes entry level and Alpha means trendy. This car is an interesting blend of a crossover new trendy car.
This car has received a stunning acclaim from ardent car fans, it will be fitted into the compact SUV segment when launched in mid 2013. It took 10 months to engineer this car with 5 engineers together with Suzuki engineers to develop the first ever SUV of Maruti Suzuki.
The XA Alpha will be fitted with the high tech and powerful K series engine in the petrol model, and a 1.3 liter DDiS engine in the diesel model. The power and torque units have not yet been announced.
The company has built the XA Alpha to match the potential of a Utility Vehicle. The mileage is expected to be 8 to 10 kilometers per liter with a thrilling top speed of 180 kilometers per hour on the highways. There will be two wheel and four wheel drive options.
The exterior will be built with the dynamic monocoque chassis; in terms of dimension the car has a length of 4m, width of 1.9m and height of 1.6m with a wheelbase of 2.5m. The exterior is decked with neat free flowing bonnet lines and a sturdy appealing five grille apex in which the Suzuki logo is embedded. The side and rear is garnished with a royal brown which heightens the style quotient of the car.
The interiors are roomy and comfortable with amazing features of AC with climate control, power windows, music system, and remote fuel filler. Electronic door mirrors on sides, leather seats, rear armrest, steering mounted controls, and sun roof.
The safety features are built to protect occupants to the hilt with parking sensors, a couple of airbags, fog lamps, 3 seatbelts at the rear, anti-lock braking system with EBD.
The Rush is appreciated for its modern and sophisticated appearance; the exterior is splashed with fog lamps for enhanced visibility, wing mirrors to alert oncoming traffic, reverse sensor, turn indicator, spare tyre and headlamps.
The interiors generates an equally classy atmosphere with comfy and soft seats, AC with effective cooling system, audio controls on steering wheel, power windows, sun visor, holder, leather gear knob, audio system and many others.
The safety features are world class with Anti braking system (ABS), Supplementary Resistant System (SRS), electronic brake force distribution, collapsible steering column and Global Outstanding Assessment frame.
In terms of engine the car is equipped with an efficient 3 SZ-VE4 cylinder DOHC engine with a displacement capacity of 1495cc. The Rush can churn dynamic efficiencies of 141 Nm at 4400 rpm. The mileage is impressive at 14.8 kilometers per liter.
With respect to pricing, the Rush and XA Alpha are equally impressive, priced below 10 lakhs. The XA Alpha is built with a superior monocoque engine frame which might be sturdier than the Rush. In terms of exterior, the Rush has wing mirrors which offer elevated visibility. The safety features in the Rush is more efficient and dynamic than the XA Alpha. The interior and engine features of both cars are an equal winner.
