Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese firm Toyota Motor Corp has recorded a decline of 37.36% this year in the domestic segment. The firm managed to deliver 9,007 volumes in April compared to 14,738 volumes same period last year. The company aimed to upgrade the Etios models, and focus on exporting this car, which has heightened the overall sale turnover segment at 10,456 volumes in April this year.
Toyota along with other reputed auto majors is facing a rough patch in terms of sale output. To elevate its sale output, the company zeroed in new methods to minimize the supply stock lists in showrooms. This trend is likely to continue in the Financial Year of 2013 to 2014 as well as announced by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. The present sale scenario has dipped to a large extent, this has enables car companies to offer attractive discounts and packages to customers.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor agreed to partner with Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services in 2012, and has signed a partnership deal. The main goal of this joint partnership is to elevate sale output of models by rolling them at an attractive price. According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ,Toyota will be a target for credible finance options.
On the car sale decline experienced by Toyota, Mr. Sandeep Singh, stated, ‘’the market is on an all time low, and will take a while to surge. To maintain net profits we have strategized on a scheme to minimize inventory stock in the company and showrooms.’’
With the company experiencing a significant decline in sale output, the move to reduce inventory stocks is a profitable move. The company to maintain admirable sale outputs is working on Etios models in the domestic and export segments, the Etios models have been one of the top selling models for the company. The other successful Toyota cars are Innova, Corolla Altis and so on. There is also a sportier version of Liva called TRD Sportivo to heighten the sporty image of the car. The rise in petrol rates have also led to massive sale declines, consumers prefer to opt for diesel car due to the constant increase in petrol prices.
