According to Google, this could be an excellent alternative to buying cars, and there would be other benefits as well with lower accident cases and carbon dioxide emissions. Google is hopeful that auto manufacturers would construct vehicles using the self drive software developed by engineers.
For some interesting information this is not the first attempt of Google to initiate a self drive car initiative. In 2010, the company has developed self drive technology that has been inserted in Lexus RX and Prius models of Toyota.
