Satoshi Ogiso, the Deputy Chief Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation stated, ‘’the next gen Prius is will be a greater excitement symbol than before. He is the main brain wave behind Prius, and has built 3 generation models so far, the latest Prius will launch in the year 2015.
Prius is among Toyota’s premium hybrid creations, and according to Ogiso, the head of Toyota Akio Toyoda is keen to unveil many more fun cars. The development of next gen Prius, will excite customers to a great deal, and is likely to be more enjoyable. The launch of first Prius happened way back in the year 1997, and till now the company is working to take the advanced hybrid engineering technology to a whole new level.
Ogiso is extremely appreciative of his boss Akio san, and said, that he is familiar with the nuances of hybrid technology in Prius. This has enabled Ogiso to discover a new and more fuel efficient Prius. It has been over six years since the first Prius was unveiled, and Toyota continues to discover newer more fuel efficient products. The next-gen Prius will be designed based on cutting-edge Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) theme. The car will be a light weighted, and thus a more fun and smooth sailing model.
The next-gen Prius will be equipped with a powerful TNGA power train, and the thermal efficiency levels are expected to be over 40% higher. The principle behind TNGA mill is the thermal energy will be converted to power, and thereby minimizing heat transmitting levels. The thermal efficiency levels in the present Prius model is 38.5%, and the next-gen car is expected to yield 42%, as stated by the Chief engineer in charge of building the Prius Satoshi Ogiso.
Toyota foresees the future to be filled with TNGA cars in 2020, and the next-gen Prius will be among first models to have a similar architecture quotient with Toyota’s components used in many of its highly efficient vehicles. Those who are fascinated by the next-gen Prius and can’t wait to have a grand view of the car can head to Michigan to view some of Toyota’s interesting hybrid models; its latest model is expected to yield supreme 55mpg mileage figures.
