The Indian car market had encountered bleak sales in the past year or so, the country is on a rough economic ride. Recession has had a great impact on India recently this had led to increase in fuel and commodity costs. The scenario however appears to be varied in 2014; there are series of new launches from many established auto firms in the country.
Toyota has an exciting display of new launches; the company is set to showcase its new Corolla model at 2014 Auto Expo. The excitement does not stop here; there is another unique launch, which is also derived from an existing model which is an extremely popular make of Toyota called Etios Cross. Those who are keen to view the car on the web, it takes on an interesting style concept which highlights its cross nature. It has a double layer, the top portion is filled with the usual car material and on the bottom portion there are plastic fittings.
To provide an insight into the unique identity of Etios Cross that differentiates this piece from its predecessor is the presence of a more attractive front bumper, plastic side molds, silver roof rails, fresh alloy wheels and silver faux skid plates. Toyota has not meddled with the engine attributes of the car, it is the same 1.4 liter diesel and 1.2 liter petrol injected into Liva. The company will also reveal the Etios Cross model at 2014 Auto expo
The competition levels in the Indian car segment has intensified, there is now an influx of sedans, hatchbacks and SUV’s. The list does not stop here just like Toyota; Volkswagen has also lately tried its hand in building cross brands with the launch of Volkswagen Cross Polo.
Volkswagen Polo is a trendy hatch, and it would be interesting to have a grand peak at the cross version of the car. Cross Polo portrays a more aggressive stance, the main stand out feature is what defines its cross identity, a fresh cross grille fitted with glossy chrome. The other interesting features are five spoke alloy wheel, silver accents, back and front cross bumpers. The most important point to note is the side cladding draped in black rubbery material, and this is a visible feature. There are also silver roof rails, halogen headlights, and another interesting feature is the neatly carved ‘Cross Polo logo on back door.
Volkswagen Cross Polo is incorporated with a powerful TDI 1.2 liter engine that pumps out efficient 180 Nm and 75 PS energy outputs. The engine is mated to five speed manual gearbox.
What earlier seemed to be a dim phase in Indian car industry has now exploded into a series of new launches. The Etios Cross will be on show at auto expo, and this is an exciting period for car fanatics to observe a series of various car genres. Anything new and different from usual is always interesting, and Toyota has used an effective strategy to promote its grand Etios brand. Its arch rival is Volkswagen Cross Polo. It would be thrilling to witness the cut-throat battle between the two crosses.
