The 2014 Indian Auto Expo is knocking at the door and all the auto majors of India are ready with their intended lineup for the event. The Expo is about to begin in the next month and bring along with it a view of all the dazzling new cars from the automotive giants operating in India.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is also ready with its own exhibit lineup. Toyota has now announced its intended lineup for the 2014 Indian Auto Expo officially. The 12th edition of the Expo will present a lineup from the Japanese auto major that will comprise of 17 cars.
The Toyota showstopper at the event will be the much acclaimed all new 2014 Corolla Altis, which is still getting a lot of praises all over the globe for its evolutionary design language. The all new Corolla Altis gets a new bolder and more stylish exterior looks while also offering better space and comfort on the inside, as it has also become longer than its predecessor. The car looks much more contemporary and sharp along with its edgy design elements and bolds cuts along its body. The new Corolla is also more efficient now and offers better ride and handling with its enhanced suspension and tweaked powertrains.
Toyota is likely to use the same engines under the hood of the new Corolla. The ongoing model’s 1.8 liter Dual VVT petrol engine churning out 140PS of power and 173Nm of peak torque, and a 1.4 liter 4-cylinder diesel mill that delivers 88.4PS of power and 205Nm of peak torque will drive the new model as well.
The all new 2014 Corolla Altis will be unveiled in the Indian car market at the Auto Expo, while it will be offered for sale in the market in the latter half of the year.
Another very important offering from Toyota will also be launched at this Auto Expo, and that is the Etios Cross. Toyota is jumping onto the crossover bandwagon in India with its Etios Cross. The Etios Cross is essentially a crossover version of the original Etios Liva hatchback that is already offered for sale in India. The Etios Cross dons a rather pseudo tough look with a plastic body kit that renders it a rugged crossover look to attract buyers. Under the hood, the vehicle is all the same as the Etios Liva.
Toyota Kirloskar will also case its GT86 sportscar concept at the Expo, the production version of which has already gone on sale internationally. This car has got loads of appreciation from the global audience for its reasonable pricing and great fun driving aspects that are meant to charm all auto enthusiasts.
Toyota’s exhibit lineup for the Expo also includes several other cars such as the refreshed Prado, Hiace, LC 200 SUV, apart from the cars that are already offered for sale in India like the Prius, Camry Hybrid, the refreshed Innova, Fortuner, Etios and Etios Liva.
