Toyota RAV4 is Recreational Active Vehicle along with four wheel drive. It is a superb crossover which after its launch can catch glances of many.
Toyota RAV4 is a compact SUV based on Camry platform and is available in foreign countries. The two versions of RAV4 are short and long wheelbase. The shorter wheelbase version is available in Japan and Europe however, long wheelbase vehicles are available in North America and Australia.
This compact crossover SUV is not yet launched in India but there’s a possibility of it coming soon. The three variants of the car are XLE, LE and limited available in U.S. only. This segment of SUV offers displacement of 2500cc. The engine has dual VVT-i technology which delivers power of 179bhp at 6000rpm. The petrol engine produces torque of 172Nm at 4000rpm.
The Toyota RAV4 comes with dimensions of 4572mm in length, 1662mm height and 1844mm width. The wheelbase of the car is 2659mm and ground clearance of 180mm. The electronic fuel ignition with the support of 6 speed auto transmission electronically controlled systems to give higher performance. The fuel tank capacity of the vehicle is 60 litres.
The exterior of the Toyota car includes projector beam headlights, roof rails, chrome grille, 17inches of steel wheels and noise reducing windshield. The interiors of the SUV are mirrors, interior accents, and superior fabric of seats, adjustable driver’s seat, arm centres, holding boxes, and dual sun visors along with vanity mirrors.
The climate control system supported by air conditioner comes with filter to dispose dust to outside. The music system works very well with 6.1 inches of display integrated with rear camera and plays various formats of songs on 6 speakers. There are numbers of connectivity options provided in the car.
The Eco mode and Sport mode supported by the vehicle does really well along with cruise control. The windows can be controlled electronically; doors are connected with the transmission and gets locked/unlocked automatically. The new technologies used in Toyota RAV4 have helped it improve a lot. The automatic limited slip differential avoids slipping of the vehicle in such conditions. The privacy glass is also provided on the rear side.
Toyota has made no compromise with safety features, it has provided Start Safety system which consists of VSC vehicle stability control, ABS, traction control and electronic brake distribution, smart stop technology and brake assist. The pressure in the tyres is monitored regularly. The smart key system provided offer control on the door locks.
The costly variation of this SUV comes with a blind spot monitoring system which can detect any vehicle in the dark and inform the driver. The eight airbags, rear door locks for child safety, collapsible steering column and engine immobilizer etc. are the other supportive safety features.
The Toyota vehicle is variable in vibrant colours and that includes Black, Magnetic Grey, Red Metallic, Blue Pearl, Spruce Mica and Pyrite Mica. It is not yet available in Indian markets but its expected price is about Rs. 17 Lakhs; it is the ex-showroom price.
