Toyota is a premium Japanese based auto brand, and has rolled out incredibly lavish pieces like Camry, Prius, Lexus, Fortuner, Tundra and many others. When buyers seek to own a new sedan car, the first product that would emerge is Corolla. Toyota launched the very first Corolla car way back in 1960’s and has since then been a sedan ruler. The car is fresh as ever even today and has been voted as the bestselling car in 2013.
Toyota has encountered marvellous fortunes with Corolla with the sale of 1.22 million units, and the popular variants are Corolla EX four door sedan, Corolla Axio and Corolla Altis.
The statistical data on the flow output of Corolla has been described in Polk’s new registration data. The content says Corolla is the top selling model with the sale of 1 million units. The car recorded incredible sales of 300,000 in US in 2013, which is a 4% increase from the year ago period; about 97% of Corolla models rolled out in US were built in North America.
Toyota has made commendable profits in many parts of the globe in 2013 with the sale of 9.98 million pieces. The figures are inclusive of products launched from HinoTrucks and Daihatsu Motor company. The percentage growth was 2.4% and the company aims to make a grand 10 million mark this year.
Corolla is a much appreciated car in India, and the company is geared to bring in the 2014 Corolla Altis on the 27th of May. The launch date is just a month away, which implies that Toyota has started its booking procedure; ardent Corolla fans who want the earliest Corolla model can book a car now for Rs 50,000. The car will be sold to customers after a week of its arrival into showrooms.
If the current Corolla is super attractive, the 2014 model is picturesque beyond words. Toyota has engineered a more stylish Corolla, with glossy chrome decorations on front portion and also on LED headlights, and tail lights. The interiors are grand and the cabin room is enormous and a feature to look forward to 7.1inch touchscreen with navigation, along with push start or stop button, high-end reversing camera and reclining back seats. The other exciting features to look forward to are sunshade, power socket, reading light, rain sensing wipers and 8 way adjustable driver’s seat.
The new Corolla Altis is garnished with amazing features, and a greater source of excitement is customers can choose from as many as seven colours. Apart from having more exquisite features, the car is longer than its predecessor and is 1475mm tall, 1776mm wide and 4620mm long. The wheelbase measurement is 2700mm, lengthier than current car by 100mm.
Nothing has changed on mechanical front, the new Corolla Altis will move on the same petrol dual VVI 1798cc engine and diesel D4D 1364cc power train. The petrol car is attached to seven speed automatic and six speed manual gearbox, and the diesel engine is mated to six speed manual transmission.
Interior images of the car have been posted on the web, and it looks marvellously grand with royal beige and black colour theme. From the looks of it, the cabin room is vast and every part of the car looks magnificent and pristine. The online pictures itself are stunning, and imagine how the real car will look.
