The all new Toyota Corolla was found in a partially covered form outside the 2014 Beijing Auto Show a week back. Thus, the general impression was that the world’s top selling car maker, Toyota Motor is going to unveil the new-generation Corolla in the Chinese car market. However, to make things even better, the Japanese car maker is offering not one but two new Corolla sedans to the Chinese consumers.
Toyota Motor has unveiled the new Corolla sedan as well as the new Levin Corolla luxury sedan in Beijing. The regular Corolla sedan is produced by the joint-venture between Toyota and its Chinese partner, FAW. This first Corolla sedan model is quite similar to its European counterpart that has gain a lot of appreciation but is not that flashy in terms of looks. On the other hand, Toyota has also showcased the more premium version of Corolla, which is called the Levin Corolla. This up-market sedan from Toyota offers a head turning design with the combination of a unique front face along with the other design cues that have been borrowed from the European as well as the North American Corolla counterparts. The Levin has a stunning smooth flowing exterior design that lends it a sleek and smart appeal. The design line is further enhanced by a shimmering metallic orange hue. This model will be produced by Toyota’s joint venture the Chinese company GAC.
Moreover the two new Corolla models are also to get their respective hybrid models as well for the Chinese public. Toyota Motor’s Executive Vice President Yasumori Ihara has confirmed to the press while speaking at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, that the company will launch the hybrid models of both the new Corolla and the new Levin in the year 2015 in China.
He said that the Toyota Corolla and the Levin models to launched in the market shortly, and will also be available in hybrid models from next year. Both the models’ hybrid counterparts’ primary hybrid components will be locally produced in China.
The production of the Corolla and the Levin hybrids in China along with localized hybrid components will also make these the first ever hybrid cars from Toyota that will be made with their major hybrid components manufactured outside Japan.
Ihara also added by expressing his hope that a time will come, when Toyota will be selling over 2 million vehicles in China per year.
The Chinese car market is the largest in the world making it draw the major attention of all the auto giants in the globe. The global auto leader, Toyota is also trying its best to impress the Chinese audience with its quality vehicles.
The new Toyota Corolla is a more stylish and bolder looking sedan, while improving on all its best known qualities. It has got improved safety features and better ride and handling making it an awesome car than ever. The new Corolla has also emerged as the top selling car in the world in 2013.
