Toyota has interesting launches this year, the Etios Cross and new Corolla Altis, the launch date of both models is just few days away. The two cars are in the most desirable new car launch list, but how often does one encounter a Cross car. Car enthusiasts will wonder about the drive encounter of Etios Cross.
Toyota Etios Cross Front Right
There are many interesting Cross launches like Skoda Fabia Scout and Volkswagen Cross Polo. The two cars are designed from hatch base, and Etios Cross follows suit. The turning radius, ground clearance and wheelbase are identical to Liva. What defines the Cross identity of Etios Cross is the plastic cladding at the bottom. Etios Cross looks strikingly different from its hatch cousin, and the variation lies in the built up nature contributed by plastic cladding on wheel arches and doors, and the other interesting features are roof rails and skid plates. Toyota’s aim with Etios Cross is to create a sportier version of the hatchback, and the company has used satin finished ingredients than chrome. It is just a twist of ingredients that makes all the difference.
Etios Cross is decked up in layers of plastic material, and it is a definition of cross creativity. The exteriors of Cross are mysterious and let’s go through if the insides pose similar mysteries. The inner décor is just like Liva, and is enriched with features like a world class two Din music system with Bluetooth connectivity and steering fitted audio controls, tachometer with blue backlight, and centrally fitted speedometer. The interior theme is all black, and according to sources looks sportier than Liva. The quality of materials used is fine fiber inserts and faux carbon. The high end V model has royally furnished chrome accents sprinkled around air con vents. On the front seat is the neatly sketched out ‘Etios Cross logo’ beneath adjustable headrests.
Etios Cross moves on robust 1.5 liter and 1.2 liter petrol engine that churn 132Nm and 90Ps, and 104Nm and 80PS. The diesel engine moves on 1.4 liter capacity that yields 170Nm and 68PS. The three engines are attached to five speed manual gearbox. Car enthusiasts enjoyed driving the car, and the improvement over Etios Liva hatch stems from reduced noise, vibration and harshness levels. The fuel efficiency rates of 1.4 liter diesel engine are 23.5kmpl, 16.7 kmpl and 17.7kmpl.
Images of Etios Cross have been uploaded in a vibrant orange shade, every angle of the car is showcased, the front, side and rear. The car looks sporty and trendy. Besides the plastic cladding, the other signature feature to watch out for is roof railing and front bar. Toyota has been creative in drawing out many more original attributes than just plastic cladding. The interior, engine and boot images are up on web as well, and from the looks of it, it is a grand and exciting purchase.
It will be fun to drive Etios Cross, and will arrive on the 9th of May which is just few days away. Its most though of arch rival is Volkswagen Polo Cross.
