Reasons that make the Toyota Etios Cross an exciting buy

Toyota India has just launched the uniquely styled Etios Cross. We list some reasons to explain why Toyota Etios Cross is an exciting buy. The Etios Cross is not a crossover and is neither a regular hatchback. It can be termed as a hatch over, a segment which is still not popular in India, but quite some new cars are arriving in this hatchback cross segment. The new spunky looking Toyota Etios Cross surely gives you some good reasons of choosing it over the regular hatchbacks. Let us take a look:

Unique, aggressive design:

Undoubtedly, the new Toyota Etios Cross is one of the boldest and completely different looking hatchbacks in India. It is offered in 8 great colors, of which all its remarkable features look most striking in shade the shades of Inferno Orange and Ultramarine Blue. Toyota’s incorporation of the full body cladding in matte black and silver is a remarkable feature that did most of the job in transforming the regular Liva into the Etios Cross. The 10 spoke large alloy wheels are very impressive as well with their their diamond cut tone finish. The sporty and aggressive look is completed by the chunky bumpers, bold front grille, roof rails and two-tone spoiler.

Sporty, up-market interiors:

Toyota has upgraded the Liva’s great interiors into the better looking cabin of the Etios Cross that feels more premium. The piano black dashboard and centre console look really impressive. The new double-DIN infotainment system and multidirectional round air conditioning vents make for a very funky yet classy dashboard design. Toyota has also endowed the car with black seat covers with embossed ‘Etios Cross’ logos. The overall effect is that anyone will appreciate the Etios Cross’s cabin as a contemporary, up-market and elegant one. Toyota also seems to have improved the interior materials for the Etios Cross that make the cabin feel so very premium as compared against Liva’s. The infotainment system offers really good look and feel with its brushed aluminum finished layout.

Great powerful powertrain choices

The Toyota Etios Cross is available in extensive powertrain choices of two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The 1.2 liter petrol engine is capable of delivering a max power of 80PS and a peak torque of 104Nm, while the 1.5 liter petrol mill delivers 90Ps of power and 132Nm of torque. The Etios Cross’ diesel version is powered by the D-4D, 1.4 liter turbocharged diesel mill offering 68PS of power and 170Nm torque.

Toyota’s legendary D-4D diesel motors are highly acclaimed for their reliability and refinement. While the diesel engine is more popular, the 1.5 liter petrol engine offers enhanced driving pleasure.

Great value-for-money package

The Etios Cross is priced at Rs. 5.76 lakh, while the top-end trim with all the bells and whistles comes at Rs 7.35 lakh. Compared against its only current rival, the Volkswagen Cross Polo priced at Rs 7.9 lakh for the top-end model, the Toyota Etios Cross is certainly a good value for money buy.
