The Toyota Fortuner is one of the best global top selling premium SUVs and the segment leader in the Indian car market. Now, Toyota is all set to launch the all new 2015 Fortuner next year in order to boost customer interest and to beat the growing market competition, as several car majors are bring in their premium SUVs in the market.
On the other hand, Ford has also recently showcased the Everest concept at the Bangkok Motor Show, and the production model of the Everest will also launch sometime next year. The Ford Everest is actually the Endeavour which is sold by that name in some Asian markets, thus, Ford India is well expected to bring the all new 2015 Endeavour in India as well.
The Ford Endeavour’s primary and most dominating market rival is of course the Toyota Fortuner in India. So will the next generation model of the Ford Endeavour able to give a tough fight to the segment leader Toyota Fortuner’s next gen model.
Let us try to figure it out!
To begin with the next-gen Ford Endeavour looks much more appealing than the ongoing model. All old-school boxy design has vanished, and the SUV has become stunningly curvaceous and still maintains the aggressive patent SUV looks. The new SUV model is based on Ford’s Kinetic design language, which is evident in the inverted trapezoidal front grille that is recently the signature style of Ford. Both the headlight and the tail lights are horizontally placed ditching the old Christmas-tree taillights lamp.
The Toyota Fortuner though really aggressively styled as compared to the Endeavour, but now it has started showing some signs of aging. Ever since it launched back in 2009, Fortuner has got a mid-life refresh which ensured that the customers lunge at it. Toyota is expected to bring its greatly styled all new next-gen Fortuner in 2015 based on a new platform and a totally new face which it would share with the next-gen Toyota Hilux. The Fortuner’s slightly boxy design is also expected to be wiped out, while increasing more on the mainstream SUV aggressive styling and an all dominating road presence.
Under the hood, the next-gen Ford Endeavour will keep its 3 liter Duratorq turbo diesel engine intact, but it is expected to be tweaked to offer better power and performance. Currently, the diesel mill is capable of generating a max power of 156PS and a peak torque of 380Nm. Ford’s engine is competitive and if it really receives an update, then it would be the cherry on the cake.
On the other hand, the all new Toyota Fortuner is expected to get a new engine as well to make for an all pepped up power and performance. This should make the Fortuner a real attractive deal.
On the inside, the Ford Endeavour will be completely new from scratch, and one can expect futuristic interiors similar to the EcoSport and the Fiesta. Toyota is also expected to totally refurbish the interiors of the next generation 2015 Fortuner. The all new Fortuner cab be expected to feature similar interior design to that of the all new Corolla.
