Toyota India offers 55 Camry Hybrids for India Africa Summit

Japanese car major Toyota Motor is known for its innovative ideas and environment friendly thread of thinking. Apart from being a global car giant, Toyota Motor is also a company which has been constantly working to find sustainable solutions to improve the grave eco-imbalance situation of our planet. The Japanese company has been researching on ways to improve the future mobility system and help reduce the pollution level despite the constant increase in the number of automobiles on the roads. Apart from constantly innovating many eco-friendly concepts and projects, Toyota is also the pioneer of Hybrid cars, which brought about a green revolution in the global car markets. It is no wonder then that Toyota takes pride in its eco-friendly work and has lend a green arm to the India Africa Summit that just concluded.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor India, recently announced of its plans to provide 55 Camry Hybrid cars just before the commencement of the third India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) which was held from 26th October to 29th of October, which witnessed the gracious presence of the government and state heads from over the 54 attending countries. Toyota India provided its most loved Indian green cars to the India Africa Summit in order to transport the dignitaries during the important international event.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is a very popular car in India and according to the company accounts for the major bulk of the total sales of the Toyota Camry brand in India. The Hybrid version of the Camry is fully manufactured in India and has been witnessing increasing demands in the country. Despite the lack of interest of the Indian customers in green cars, this has been possible due to Toyota’s constant push of its green agenda in the country negating the low sales situation of the company in India. Now, as the Indian government’s green vehicle supporting FAME policy is finally in effect, the Toyota Camry Hybrid is expected to get a further spurt of demands.

While talking about the company’s providing the Camry Hybrids to the India Africa Summit, the Toyota Kirloskar Motor India’s senior vice president and director of sales & marketing, N. Raja, said that last month, the company’s chairman, Takeshi Uchiyamada, during his visit to India had met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their meeting had initiated the company’s support to the 3rd India African Summit and the company is extremely pleased to carry out this association.

Raja added by saying that India is making great efforts towards pollution control and Toyota’s environment friendly technology goes hand in hand with India’s vision. Strong hybrid cars can really make a positive impact when widely used, and Toyota is constantly endeavoring to educate and encourage the adaptation of strong hybrids in India.

Raja further said that the Toyota Camry Hybrid are the first such cars that are locally manufactured in the country which further supports the make in India mission apart from India’s fight against growing pollution.
