Toyota Etios Liva versus Volkswagen Polo

The ultimate hatchbacks are here and it is a tough decision for the people to make that what hatchback they want for themselves. So the two competitors here are the Toyota Etios Liva and the Volkswagen polo, let’s get to know these cars in details.

Toyota Etios Liva is a good looking stylish hatchback; the front of the car has a smiling face just like its elder brother the Etios sedan. It has a chrome finish grille with the Toyota badge at the middle, the headlamps of the car is small and has a multi reflector type which provides good illumination at the dark, the front bumper looks sporty with the beautiful curves in it also has a fog lamps which helps the driver for better visibility at rough weather conditions. The side of the side profile looks quite simple and has a body colored door handles and the side view mirror. The rear end of the car is sporty and has a spoiler to it along beautifully fitted tail lamps.

Volkswagen polo is also a good looking hatchback but it is more aggressive looking than the Etios so some may like it some may not. The front grille is finished in chrome with the big VW badge in the middle, the headlights are attached to the front upper grille with the integrated side indicators, the side profile of the car looks simple and has the body colored door handles and the rear view mirrors. The rear of the hatchback looks sporty and has sporty looking tail lamps at the back again with the big Polo design sculptured at the rear.

Toyota Etios Liva is powered by a 1197 cc engine which generates 80 PS of maximum power. The kerb weight of the car is 890kg so it is a perfect blend of power to weight ratio. Toyota Etios Liva Diesel has a four cylinder, 1364cc, with 8Valve and SOHC, D-4D engine which generates 68PS of peak power at as low as 3800 rpm and 170 Nm of torque at 1800-2400rpm.

Volkswagen Polo has a 1.2 L petrol engine that has been mated with a 5speed manual gearbox and generates 75 PS of Maximum Power at 5400 rpm and 110 Nm of Torque at 3750 rpm. The diesel variant comes of Volkswagen Polo has a 1.2L engine which generates 75 PS of maximum power at 4200 rpm and 180 Nm of maximum Torque at 2000 rpm.

Both this hatchbacks have spacious interiors and has a good space for leg and head room. The hatchbacks engine performs well in highways as well as city traffics, but both of them do not have any option of automatic transmission that can be a bit of problem at the heavy traffic situation. Etios is much more fuel; efficient than the Polo and also is swift on the highways than the Polo because of its light weight. The Etios is thus the winner amongst these two hatchbacks.
