The officials from Toyota has finally confirmed the news that the company is set to launch Toyota Avanza in the multipurpose segment in India. The launch of the new Avanza is expected somewhere in the mid of 2014. Currently, it is being sold in South-east Asian countries like Thailand and Indonesia and is doing very well. It is also speculated that its price will be lesser by 25% in comparison to Chevrolet Tavera and Mahindra Xylo and will fall between 6 to 9 lacks.
Toyota Avanza is a classic model and is extremely popular among Malaysians. This seven-seater car gives a high comfort level along with reliability. The car has never lost its charm and is counted best among the customers since its launch in 2004. This model has carved a niche in the Malaysian market by gaining immense popularity. It has been modified number of times since then and the latest look of the Avanza is even more stunning. The Avanza is currently available in three petrol variants: 1.5S, 1.5 G and 1.5E, all sporting an 1.5L engine.
The Avanza comes powered with 1.5L 16-Valve DOHC 4-cylinder VVT-i engine, mated with four speed automatic transmission, giving a very comfortable and smooth drive. The engine of the vehicle can churn 103PS of maximum power and 136Nm of maximum torque. Expected mileage is around 15.8 kmpl in the city and 11.2 kmpl on the highway. The turning radius is approximately 4.7 meters to allow easy turn.
This sports car has magnificent exteriors, the backlight heightens its professional and sophisticated value. The front grille elevates the sporty stance which is artistically designed. Fog lights are fitted on bumper which delivers supreme illumination , which makes the overall a very pleasurable experience mainly during dark hours. Backlights and spoiler of roof completes the design picture of car.
The interior of Toyota Avanza is simply plush and highly voluminous and comes with a seven seated arrangement. The boot space is very spacious and can be used for heavy luggage. Here, in this luxurious car, passengers can enjoy all the important attributes like an instrument panel which takes up a posh design and a world class audio which is equipped with mp3 and other facilities of CD. The interior décor has a beige shade theme and is embellished with a lot of storage facilities including bottle holders etc.
This model is a killer launch as far as safety features are concerned. There are supplementary air bags for restraining the system in the compartment of driver and passenger. Other important safety features in the Avanza are safety belts, protection of sidebar, safety technology for crash body, ABS and EBD.
Avanza in India?
Although, the Toyota Innova in India has been designed on the similar lines as the Avanza, Avanza is dearly awaited in the Indian Market since a very long time. After the confirmation of the Indian launch from the company officials, the car market experts are soaring with speculations about the Indian Avanza specs and price. However, all these speculations will soon come to an end once the company reveals the details of the Indian launch.
