The world’s largest car maker in terms of sales volume, Toyota Motor is introducing a whole lot of new models and concept cars at the two simultaneous auto shows, one at Tokyo and the other at Los Angeles. Toyota is globally renowned as the pioneer of the hybrid cars. Including the world’s most popular hybrid Prius, Toyota has a total 24 very efficient hybrid car models. As the Japanese car maker had earlier announced, it is going to introduce a lot of refreshed as well as, all new hybrid models by the year 2015.
Keeping in line with its hybrid portfolio enhancement plans, Toyota has unveiled the all new Highlander Hybrid taking advantage of the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show’s platform. With the introduction of the all new model, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid has entered its 3rd generation model.
Toyota has also significantly increased the starting price tag of the all new 2014 Highlander Hybrid as compared to the outgoing model. The 2013 Highlander Hybrid’s basic model had a starting tag of $40,170, while the all new 2014 model of the hybrid comes in for a starting price of $47,300. A costlier Limited Platinum trim is also on the offer tagged at $49,790.
However, Toyota is also offering a whole lot of new updates for the price increase. The all new 3rd generation Highlander Hybrid is definitely much better as compared to its predecessor in terms of design as well as advanced technology. The new model comes along with redesigned exterior visual appeal to charm the contemporary audience. Toyota has endowed the new vehicle with a more modern overall silhouette, stylish roof rails and bold linings on the side panels in order to offer an overall stunning looks. The vehicle has also become bigger as most of the new generation cars. The all new Highlander Hybrid has become few inches longer and slightly wider, while displaying a very sleek and bond appearance.
The company also says that the 2014 Highlander Hybrid also offers a more spacious interior owing to its increased size. The vehicle offers larger space for 7 adult occupants along with abundant of creature comfort that come as standard. The new advanced interior features include a new 4.2 inch color LCD display for the infotainment system, premium seating arrangement with perforated leather material and a new panoramic moon roof.
The 2014 Highlander Hybrid also come braced with new advanced technology to boost its performance and road handling levels. The fuel efficiency of the vehicle however has not enhanced, as it offers the mileage of 27-28 mpg on a combined driving condition on city roads and highway. The vehicle is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 gasoline engine along with a highly powerful electric motor to generate a combined power of 280 horsepower.
The all new Toyota Highlander Hybrid’s Platinum trim model has come along with some added features for improved driving experience. It comes with pre-collision alerts, lane departure alerts and automatic powerful headlights. The 2014 model will hit the market in February, 2014.
