The compact SUV market segment in India is picking up at a brisk pace and this fact has become obvious with the spurt of launches in this segment in the recent times. Automobile manufacturers are gearing up to launch their own compact SUVs to overtake the competition. The Maruti Ertiga has created a revolution of sorts and made other car brands in India take notice of this growing segment and come up with a product that comes close to the Ertiga, if not matches it, in terms of price, style and comfort.
One outcome of this revolution has been Japanese automaker Toyota’s plans to foray into the compact SUV segment in India with its compact SUV ‘Rush’. The Premier Rio and the Mahindra Xylo Mini are currently under testing stages in different parts of the country and would most likely be launched in India in the coming year. Additionally, the Renault Dacia Duster as well as the Ford EcoSport crossover is also stiffly competing in this segment.
Toyota is gearing up to launch the compact SUV ‘Rush’ in the increasingly competitive segment in India. If reports from reliable automobile portals are to be believed, then Toyota might be launching this compact SUV with a price bracket of Rs. 10 lakhs. It is also believed that with the launch of Rush, Toyota would look to fill the price gap that exists between the Innova and Corolla/Etios.
The rumor mills have already gone on an overdrive, speculating when Toyota will launch the Rush in the Indian market. If recent reports are to be believed, then this compact SUV from Toyota will be making in-roads in the Indian market by the middle of the year 2014. The Japanese automaker ahs began research to study the feasibility in India so that Rush is a major success in Indian markets.
In October this year, Toyota also went ahead with the soft launch of the facelift model of the Innova. The modifications on the facelift model of Innova are primarily on a cosmetic front while the mechanicals are retained from the existing model. The changes introduced to the new Innova include a refurbished front bumper with abundant chrome embellishments seen on radiator grille, side molding and the fog lamp surrounds. The rear gets a chrome embellishment along with its reflectors. The chrome embellishments are offered only on Z and VX trims.
The interiors of the new Innova are more or less the same. The multimedia system is tweaked slightly while the doors are adorned with a faux wood finish which also graces the gear knob. The two-tone cabin seats look stunning as well. Toyota is anticipating some positive response in terms of sales volumes after it went ahead with the launch of the new Innova, which is a 2014 model car.
Like the facelift model of Innova, Toyota also will be launching the facelift model for Fortuner. The Fortuner facelift has been introduced in Indonesian market few months back. The Fortuner facelift will get skirts on bumpers, chrome grille and redesigned alloy wheels.
