The Innova MPV is the most successful model that is currently on offer in the Indian car market from the house of the world’s largest car manufacturer, Toyota. The MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) or MUV (multi utility vehicle) is the undisputed leader of the large MPV segment is India and is expected to continue to be so for quite some time in the future as well. The very elegant and sophisticated Innova was launched in India by the Japanese car maker as a successor to the very popular Qualis. At present the vehicle has gone ahead accounting for about 45 percent of Toyota Kirloskar Motor India’s total sales. The Innova has been ruling the segment for many years now and with the passage of time has undergone many updates to keep it fresh and alluring to the consumers. However, over the time it has also become more expensive as well. As per the reports, the next generation model of the Innova will in all probabilities get an automatic diesel version as well when it launched in India in the year 2016, as the automatic version is the one thing that has been missing in the vehicle so far.
The next generation Innova will also have a new design language to join Toyota’s new family of cars following the hear racing or ‘Waku Doki’ styling. The new Innova will be built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture platform. This will ensure that the vehicle stays ahead of market competition and it can potentially boost sales as well. Toyota does need cars to boost its sales as it has been witnessing declined sales rates since last year. There have been many premium SUVs in the market which has also dampened the market for the Innovas quite a bit. Moreover, this 14 lakh Toyota vehicle is low on equipments, though offers superior driving with high reliability that are patent qualities of Toyota. This is reason enough for the Innova owners to stick to this vehicle without getting distracted by any other car. The Innova offers smooth long lasting ownership, lower running costs, loads of space and superb resale value that make it a very desirable vehicle.
In 2013, the new Innova arrived at the Indian market with some styling updates including a larger new front grille, new front bumper and redesigned back reflectors. The Innova’s cabin though superior is quite the same from the beginning with some minor changes. The next-gen Innova will have lots of new things to offer and additional space as well.
The Innova is available in 7 and 8-seater options in both petrol and diesel. The Innova petrol is powered by a 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder petrol mill that offers 132PS of power and 181Nm of torque, while the diesel version is powered by a 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder diesel mill delivering 102PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
