The current generation model of the iconic Toyota Camry sedan was launched back in 2011. After three years, Toyota needed to give the sedan some updates as a mid-generation update. Moreover, the rising market competition was getting on the nerves of Toyota. New dashing looking cars from that of its market rivals like Honda and Hyundai really started making an impact on the Camry’s popularity and Toyota needed to do something about it. As a result, came in the new attractive and cool looking 2015 Camry.

The Japanese car was introduced the new 2015 Camry at the 2014 New York Auto Show, where the car got very good response. However, as all auto shows only provide only a look at the exterior appeal of a car, the new Camry was also revealed only from the outside and no real look into the car was provided. Toyota however allowed some media personals to know the car in a better way, though no actual drive test was allowed.
Thus, here is a closer look at the 2015 Toyota Camry.
The Camry has basically remained the same with the same platform and chassis, as it is not a new generation model. However, Toyota has certainly made the new Camry more rigid with additional welds around the car’s doors, while the front and rear tracks are have been made wider. The mechanical bits have remained unaltered though. The steering wheel has also become stiffer as has the suspension on all its trims; and it is really better on the XSE trim. The brakes have been also made more responsive. Thus, the car has received quite some tweaking to offer great new drive experience.
The new Camry’s new, bold and more engaging looks have been a result of mostly new body panels, excepting the windows and the roofline. The car has also become little longer though the cabin area remains the same. Toyota, claims that the new improved soundproofing with added rubbers and insulation will provide a superior quieter cabin. All the Camry variants, now also come with a compact spare tire replacing the previously provided air compressor.
Moreover, Toyota has added a new model to the 2015 Camry range, which is the XSE. The Camry XSE will come powered by a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder mill and a V6 mill. The XSE V6 variant will be fully loaded with JBL radio, blind spot detection system and garage door opener, and these features will be offered only as options on the XSE 2.5 liter 4-cylinder version.
Toyota will be offering three main versions of the 2015 Camry sedan powered by three different powertrains. The four-cylinder mill will be powering the LE, SE, XLE and XSE variants of the car. A six-cylinder engine will be available as an option for the XLE and XSE trim models only. And the Hybrid version of the Camry will be offered in only the LE, SE and XLE trim models. Toyota is yet to announce the price list of the 2015 Camry.
