A new Cross launch is exciting, the uniqueness of Etios Cross lies in plastic cladding at the bottom. Sources say the feel exposure can be compared to Volkswagen Polo Cross and Skoda Fabia Scout. On the rear and front are silver scuff plate and the grille takes on a completely new design. There are many cross products in the market, the popularity level of these cars are almost on par with regular versions. There will even come a time when there will be crossover equipments for every launch. Car buffs were fascinated with the use of plastic cladding on wheel arches and doors. Apart from the newness it offers immense protection from scratches.

Etios Cross is a fashionable car and sources who have driven the car say it looks better than Etios Liva. The public is fascinated with the car and the response has been good. The occupants inside the car saw several public glares as they headed towards crowded areas and stop lights. It is not a common sight to see a car covered with plastic cladding. The other attractive feature to look forward to silver roof rails and trendy 10 spoke alloy wheels. The car is an assortment of sportiness and exclusive styling.

The car is engineered into 4×4 drive model; the ground clearance is great higher than Liva hatch. The large wheels emit more power and the acceleration momentum is superb. The car driven had a potent petrol 1.5 liter engine that churns 132Nm and 90PS. The 1.4 liter diesel car pumps put 170Nm and 68PS.

The 1.5 liter petrol car offered a smooth experience, the engine was swift, and the car could cross over rough pathways with ease. The diesel vehicle was not all that powerful, the movement was steady but it did not have the additional punch needed for a superbly potent engine. Sources enjoyed the feel of the car particularly on ideal city roads. The vehicle had sufficient shock absorbers to tread over harsh roads and potholes.  The only concern was the harsh cabin noise.

The handling mechanisms of the car is admirable, the steering wheel is extremely light which makes driving the Etios Cross a breeze. Sources were concerned about the loss of grip, it works marvelously even at high speeds. The brake system works well under ideal city conditions, it is however difficult to bring the vehicle to a complete halt after it reaches peak speeds. The tire grip is also not very powerful.

Etios Cross is a worthy purchase to just enjoy the city it is not so effective on long rough terrains.  It costs Rs 5.9 to 8 lakhs.
