The first look at the new aggressive design language of the all new Toyota Corolla Altis reveals the infusion of the new excitement and fun to this age-old most reliable car. Many can wonder whether this is really a Corolla with a Lexus inspired styling and strikingly handsome and bold appeal. The new Corolla’s sporty and sharp body gets further accentuated with bold creases that instill an athletic appeal to this otherwise elegant sedan.

A longer wheelbase along with slightly lower roofline makes it look more of a sleek and stylish hunk. Its low bonnet, sweepingly rising roofline and the sharp ‘C’ pillar completes the entire sporty look. The front face looks thoroughly aggressive with large air dams, wide and stylized headlights and the protruding wheel arches. This new Corolla certainly looks all stunning from all angles and its rear as well.
The 11th generation Toyota Corolla Altis has also become more refined under its new stunning exterior. Although the new car is based on the previous generation model’s platform, it has got tons of modifications far-reaching alterations. The new chassis is significantly sturdier, reduced centre of gravity and also utilizes a 100mm longer wheelbase that translates to enhance leg room.
It also features an entirely new dashboard design than its predecessor. The previous ‘T-type’ dashboard/central console design is now replaced by new stylish and interesting layered design layout.
The top layer of the dash gets matt black finish, while the AC vents and instrument panel gets a cool bulgy design. The horizontal centre of the dashboard gets colored in beige for the India spec models. Loads of chrome garnishes ensure that it looks all ravishing. The controls are prominent and user friendly to ensuring great functionality.
The all new Toyota Corolla Altis is all greatly equipped with a large touchscreen music system, Bluetooth capability, a reverse camera, illuminated cup holders and reading lamp at the rear, automatic rain sensing wipers, brake assist and airbags. It is now even safer and more reliable than ever.
Under the hood, the all new Corolla is the still run by the tried and tested 1.8 liter petrol engine but is now empowered with new technology for a better responsive and efficient performance. For the diesel version as well continues to be powered by the compact 87bhp churning 1.4 turbo diesel mill. Both the engines get a standard six-speed transmission gearbox, while the petrol motor also gets an automatic gearbox.
Toyota has made the new Corolla a lot better on the overall performance front by endowing a stiffer suspension, a more responsive steering wheel and lowered level of noise and vibration. The car has now also become safer than ever and has received a five star safety rating in Europe. The new sedan model seems to be much more refined and up-market than the previous version as well apart from its new stunning visual appeal that should be turning ample amount of heads. The all-new 2014 Corolla is thus greatly styled and offers its best features in a more refined package.
