Well, there’s good news again for all those Toyota Fortuner lovers in India who have been waiting to get their hands on the all new avatar of the SUV and became sad with the recent news of the SUV not coming before 2017. While quite recently, reports said that the new generation Fortuner will not be brought by Toyota Kirloskar India before the year 2017, latest reports again say that the all new model will launch by the end of next year.
It is now, pretty much confirmed that the all new Toyota Fortuner premium SUV is going to hit the Indian car market by the end of 2016 and not 2017. The all new 2016 Fortuner is a massively awaited vehicle launch in India, when Japanese car brand Toyota is concerned. The Fortuner is the segment leader of the Indian premium Sports Utility Vehicle market, and its new generation avatar with an array of changes is sure to impress the Indian customers even further, post its market launch here. Toyota Kirloskar Motor India, which is not really having a great currently, in terms of sales growth is also certainly going to benefit, if it really decides to expedite the Indian launch of its new Fortuner model. Apart from the all new Fortuner, Toyota is also bracing up to launch the new generation Innova MPV’s launch in India in 2016.
According to the latest reports of a prominent Indian auto portal, the new 2016 Fortuner is being readied for its Indian launch next year. As per the reports, this new model of the Fortuner will also be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing plant located in Bangalore. Though it is not yet clear at the moment, as to how much localization the all new Toyota Fortuner will get, but its overall assembly and manufacturing will be done at the Japanese car major’s Indian facility, and the company is thought to be in negotiating with the vendors regarding the localization level of the new-gen Fortuner.
Toyota Motor has already launched the new generation model of the Toyota Fortuner premium SUV in the global market earlier this year. The all new Fortuner comes with a fully revamped exterior and interior design with a new styling language that is sleeker and more contemporary now. The extremely popular vehicle now comes powered with Toyota’s newly developed 2.8 liter diesel mill that has the capability to deliver a max power output of 174.3 bhp and a peak torque value of 450 Nm and it comes equipped with a sophisticated 6 Speed automatic transmission gearbox, and offers 420 Nm of top torque when it is mated to a 6 Speed manual transmission. The SUV gets the fuel tank capacity of 80 liters.
Post its launch in the Indian car market, the all new Toyota Fortuner premium SUV will be competing with the likes of the upcoming new Ford Endeavour, the upcoming Chevrolet Trailblazer and the all new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
