Toyota Limited Edition lineup

Most companies are participating in the car fest of launches with many new and interesting products. The Japanese auto giant, Toyota too has some plans for the Indian shores. The immensely successful model lineup has worked out wonders for the Indian market. The company is not coming for any new launches for more than a year now so the carnival begins with limited editions models of their existing lineup. The company said that it will produce limited editions of the immensely popular SUV Fortuner, along with which the premium sedan Corolla Altis and the basic notchback Etios will also go under a limited edition update.

Toyota plans the announcement for launch of the limited versions somewhere between 15th and 20th of this very month. The company has already launched a limited run of its success defining Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in the market, with the name tag of Innova Aero parallel to Corolla Altis Aero and the main stream model of the house now, Etios. The response has kept the assembly line busy for much time which is evident in the sales figures of Liva with 450 units out of the pointed 1,000 digit. Feature list of the new candidates is claimed to be favorable input for the company and should keep the dealers busy for deliveries.

Inspite of the petrol riot the company has strong sales figures. The quality and network has helped Toyota maintain a benchmark amongst the competition and adhere to the sales figures. The limited edition ideology should initiate more sales. The company aims a 1,000 for Liva, 600 for the Fortuner and 400 for Corolla Altis for this year’s annual sales report. The niches and goodies may definitely cost a few more grands.

Unlike the VW which had brought a limited edition Volkswagen Vento IPL edition time back to promote the car on a scale, the Toyota Kirloskar Motors Ltd (TKML), Deputy Managing Director, Sandeep Singh hinted about the launch of next generation Corolla but in 2014.He schemes the limited editions of existing models is to evoke excitement as well as refreshment to the present stable. The Etios is a look-a-like of the highly stripped down performance version which participates in the company’s very own motorsport event. Hence, should appeal the masses whose majority must be the college going males.

No release has yet been on the feature list, options or the price so far. Time can only sort some issues it seems. The trend theory of the present market where most companies are launching new products as Mahindra Quanto, Ford Ecosport, etc, Toyota has decided to revise their homework. The changes will not be cosmetic neither can one really expect a host of new engines for now.

The models are expected to do well in the market for now and it will be pretty interesting to see if Toyota earns a pint else how the competition grows above this.
