Toyota Kirloskar Motor records a growth of 7% in March 2013

There has been some good news for Toyota Kirloskar Motor which recorded a 7% growth in March 2013. The company acquired profit output of 19,452 units compared to 18,220 units in March 2012. In the export segment, the company rolled out 1,691 units in March 2013 incurring a total sales figure of 21,143 units which is inclusive of exports.

On the sales outcome in March 2013, Mr. Sandeep Singh, the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer in the Marketing and Commercial segment announced, ‘’ even with the declining market demand, we have recorded a growth. The growth can be contributed to customer preference of new introductions of Etios Liva and Etios which was recently launched. The two cars noted a profit output of 8,637 units in March. The sale outcome of Fortuner and Innova has also lead to growth. The rise in excise duty of Sports Utility Vehicles and the introduction of road tax have aided in the wipe out of pre priced cars. The market continues to be in a slow pace and the demand for cars in the future will reduce.

The Etios was launched by Toyota Kirloskar Motor at the Auto Expo in January 2010 in Delhi. The Etios was first called EFC which means Entry Family Car. The word Etios means Spirit. The car was designed by over 2000 engineers in Japan and India who have toiled for four years to introduce a car with stunning exterior design and engine efficiency. The theme of exterior décor of Toyota is to tailor cars is innovation, best-in-class ride quality and impressive mileage at attractive pricings.

The Etios is equipped with a powerful 1.51 DOHC petrol engine which churns impressive efficiencies of 90ps at 5600 rpm and 132NM at 3000 rpm. The car is built with an aerodynamic effect and is lighter than the Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo Manza and Mahindra Logan. The car is designed on an advanced frame which is the first to be employed in any Toyota car. The engine is built under stringent ARAI regulations and delivers a good mileage of 17.6 kilometers per litre.

The interior of the VX version is fitted with 2DIN DVD MP3 system which matches the taste of the modern demographic. There are audio controls on steering wheel along with Aux in and USB facilities. The J version is designed with an interesting theme of grey and black upholstery with a boot space of 595 litres with ample of head and leg room.

The safety features in the Etios are airbags, ABS, EBD and MacPherson suspension on the rear and front. The safety is increase due to the presence of brake and disk drums at the rear. The Etios Liva has contributed to the 7% sale increase in March 2013, the car the required features to draw consumer attention with its amazing design, world-class safety, powerful engine capacity and excellent mileage. This is indeed an ideal family car to enjoy a pleasurable driving experience.
