Top officials from the Indian subsidiary have announced that there are no plans of establishing diesel models for Indian segment. A top company official stated that they are awaiting approval from top notch representatives before exploring the diesel segment. A couple of years back, Toyota established gasoline engine with a whooping investment of Rs 500 crores. A top company representative announced that, there are new projects in the assembly line, but the main task is to await approval. If the diesel car demand reduces, it would be tough to decide on diesel establishments. The firm has undergone analysis to study the feasibility of diesel models in India.

There have been reports that the Japanese media has stated that the company is planning on a diesel engine in India with a robust production capacity with 50,000 cars being releases on a yearly basis within a couple of years from now. The passenger car segment in India aims to increase with strong figures at 5 million units, and Toyota is keen to take advantage of the growing potential of Indian car segment. The Indian subsidiary firm has announced that there are plans to build diesel models in India, but there is no visibility about the proposed plan coming to force.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Limited has enhanced its initial capacity with 310,000 volumes on a yearly basis situated at the reputed plant in Bidadi close to Bangalore. The esteemed plant releases powerful and luxurious models of Fortuner and Innova. There is the second factory that rolls out efficient models of Etios Liva, Etios, Camry and Corolla Altis. There are completely built models as well with Prius, Land Cruiser and Prado.  Toyota Kirloskar Motor is confident that the production capacity can be increases to 40,000 volumes at the prestigious Bidadi unit in 2013.

It would be interesting to observe the power of diesel cars of Toyota for the Indian segment. Toyota cars are extremely popular and dynamic in India, with the Corolla Altis, Innova and Fortuner contributing heaps of profit to the company. The introduction of diesel cars along with petrol and completely built units would probably increase the buying power of Toyota cars and the launch of varied choice options of diesel in India might elevate the sale outputs of the company especially during the present unfavorable car economy.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is keen to expand its car portfolio to a significant extend in its recognized plant of Bidadi this year. The company is still in deciding phase on the launch of diesel models. The demand for diesel models is pretty high, with the Amaze diesel clocking amazing sales due to its impressive mileage, if Toyota builds an efficient diesel model with splendid mileage, then the demand for diesel cars will be on the higher angle.
