The world’s largest auto manufacturer Toyota Motor is going to offer a new and refreshed Corolla for the year 2014. While this is a known fact, further details about this newly designed Toyota Corolla were not known. As far as the so called redesigned car’s looks are concerned the industry had to stay happy only with spy shots of the heavily camouflaged mules.
However, the new Toyota Corolla 2014 has been spotted at one of the company’s dealerships in Kansas, and so was an order guide. This particular person who had spotted the new car along with its order guide had the magnanimity of sharing the information and went ahead to post the details online, which have then obviously, went viral.
If the information derived from a Toyota dealer is to be trusted, then it seems that the Japanese auto major has endowed the new 2014 Corolla with such changes that will definitely place the car a notch above its ongoing counterpart and may as well be called an evolutionary model.
As far as the exterior looks of this already killer vehicle is concerned, the new 2014 Corolla will have an aggressive visual appeal that may derive something from the combination of the superb Toyota Furia concept car and the Camry.
On the inside, the 2014 Corolla will feature Softex leather seats, new and upgraded navigation and push-button start, as the Toyota’s corporate manager of marketing had already revealed before that the new Corolla will have a great new interior.
When it comes to the under the hood specifications, the order guide also discloses that the Corolla will have more engaging mechanical updates as well. The new 2014 Toyota Corolla will still be powered by the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine however it will feature the added advantage of the company’s Valvematic continuously variable valve timing and lift system while the ongoing model has the VVT-I or the variable valve timing.
The new car’s base models will still provide the previously offered four-speed automatic transmission. However, the manual transmission of the car will add a sixth gear and also come with an optional automatic transmission on the higher models.
At present, the Toyota Corolla comes with a peak power of 132 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of peak torque. And going by the reports and specifications of the new 2014 model, it will not be a big surprise if the car offers greater power and torque figures to the Corolla buyers. On the other hand, the fuel efficiency in keeping with the looks and power of the car is also expected to be enhanced.
While considering the new 2014 Toyota Corolla’s trim levels, as per the derived information from the dealership’s order guide, the new car will also have the present four specification offerings, while the model names appear to be little altered. The previous year’s L, LE, and S model names have been changed to the LE, S, and Eco.
However, Toyota when contacted refrained from commenting on anything regarding the upcoming Corolla.
