Toyota Corolla – The old and the new

The launch of Corolla has generated heaps of fortune cookies to Toyota; the car has lived on for generations. First launched in 1968, the current model is now into its eleventh generation. The first ever Toyota Corolla looks miles different from the present one and most people would expect this. The car displayed a simple and elegant ancient vehicle demeanor.

Since the car has been on the streets for 45 years, one can imagine the demand levels for this car. Around 40 million pieces of the Corolla is sold, and the company aims to create greater sparks with the car. For those who are curious to study the history of cars, the Corolla is a fine example and what can be more interesting that when a present day model leads the path to history. The new Corolla is a stunner in terms of design technology and portrays a classy posh sedan image. The bonnet area is huge and the head lights are molded into exceptionally arty structures.

On the whole this is a new surprise package, with a design that reflects the change in consumer demands. The new Corolla is a lavish piece, and emits typical posh vibes, and has no mid market, or sporty language embedded on it. The car has mainly undergone modifications to render an upscale image and to transport many occupants. On the thought of a luxury car, the notions that would emerge are vehicles for the riches, but with the new Corolla this is not true, it is built to offer basic comforts to royalty and commoners.

The Indian spec latest Corolla will be offered with 1.4 liter diesel and 1.8 liter petrol engines respectively. Both the engines are used in the current Corolla model and are engineered to enhance power transmission and performance. The car will be equipped with a potent 1.8 liter petrol mill built with (VVTi) Variable Valve Timing technology. The latest Corolla is splashed with new improvements; the secret behind the higher performance level is the insertion of CVT automatic gearbox, manufactured with variable geometry turbo technique. The expected engine outputs with this engine are expected to go past 90 bhp. The major factor that will churn supreme efficiency levels in the latest Corolla is the fitment of electric power steering. The engine performance figures are expected to increase by around 3 to 5%.

For those who are curious about the insides of the latest Corolla, expect something magnificent and colorful. The insides are garnished with loads of surfaces, textures and colors. The dashboard will appear incredibly posh and is sprinkled with mind blowing blue backlighting of LED type. The vents and climate control buttons are differently structured, and the instrument binnacle, the dials display a highly urban appeal, and the multi-information display is bigger than the current one.

The Corolla is one model that has passed through many generations, and has flown with the advances in technology. It would be interesting if the first and latest Corolla cars are placed together, and this is an attractive medium to measure the rapid transformation of technology that has taken place for at least three generations.
