Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyundai Verna, and Renault Scala can hardly be compared when it comes to the engines of these three cars.
First of all, the best feature of Toyota Corolla Altis is its engine. The Engine of Corolla Altis is 2ZR-FE type that is Toyota’s signature In-house technology, with four cylinders that run on petrol and is DOHC with Dual Variable Valve Timing- intelligent (VVT-i), which makes sure that variable air intake is possible with intelligent timing. It has 16-Valve arrangement, that is available with either a six speed manual transmission and seven speed automatic transmission. The engine generates a maximum power of 140 PS at 6,400 RPM and gives peak torque of 173 NM at 4,000 RPM. The car is highly fuel efficient and does much lesser emissions. There is also an option of Diesel engine in Toyota Corolla Altis, which has power of 1364 cc common rail D-4D engine, which also has Variable Nozzle Turbo and Intercooler. Corolla Altis gives a Mileage of 17 to 21 KMPL.
Hyundai Verna has an In-Line 1.5-Litre engine that gives 110 BHP power. Hyundai Verna’s Engine is CRDi with VGT. The engine Displacement of Hyundai Verna is 1493 CC, with Four Cylinders, it gives maximum Power of 110 PS at the rate of 4,000 RPM and gives torque of 24 KGM at the rate of 1,900-2,750 RPM. It is equipped with four valves DOHC cylinder configuration and CRDI fuel supply system. There is also a diesel option that is equipped with a 1.5-litre. It has CRDi with Variable Geometry Turbocharger valve train. Its engine is truly a powerhouse. Verna’s engine delivers the best in its segment and finds itself the edge ahead of competition. The Verna reaches a top Speed of 185 KMPH within mere 17 seconds. And it gives a good mileage of around 12.6 to 16.8 KMPL, in Diesel variant.
Renault Scala sedan is equipped with light-weight engine, which is less powerful but gives high fuel efficiency. There are four variants of this car, all coupled with five speed manual transmission, making them fuel efficient, smooth, and less emission cars. Two run on petrol engines and two on diesel. The 1.5-Litre K9K diesel engine of the Renault sedan Scala produces approximately 84.8 BHP maximum power with about 200 NM peak torque with the 1461 CC Renault K9K engine. The Renault Scala 1.5-Litre DOHC four cylinder petrol engine gives 97.6 BHP peak power at the rate of 6000 RPM along with 134 NM torque with its XH2 1498 CC engine with ease. After 3000 rpm, the engine and it is difficult to reach there. We are doubtful that it can reach a top speed of 160 KM per hour, which might take a long time than others. The petrol unit is comparatively better and is able to reach 100 KM per hour in only 13 seconds. This unit gets up to 175 KM per hour’s top speed and gives a mileage of around 10-17 KMPL from city to highway.
