Toyota Etios Liva versus Hyundai i10

Toyota has launched Etios Liva which was a much anticipated car because of its low price and small size. Hyundai i10 was launched after the huge success of Santro. These two small cars have been compared below.

Etios Liva is well balanced due its long wheelbase of 2460mm. The bonnet flaunts identifiable creases on it. The car has been decorated with small lights with small fog lamps. The front radiator grille of this car resembles the smiling face of a human. The headlamps have been co-ordinate with the lower grille which looks like the dimples o the smiling face. The rear of the car resembles the usual hatchbacks. The OVRMs comes in body colour and the car gets a roof antenna.

The first thing which one will notice are the clear and large headlamps that stretches towards the rear of the front of the car. The car looks very elegant in such design. The chrome finished radiator grille at the front of the car houses the chrome finished logo of the company. The fog lamps are shaped as triangle and the car has a roof antenna. The OVRMs and the door handles are body coloured. The tail lamps are big in size at the rear.

The interior of Etios Liva has been given an unusual design. This car acts as dream hatchback for the Indian customers. The car excels in space and comfort. The car has seats with squabs. The seats have a lot of cushioning and backrest angle which provides ultimate comfort during the long journeys. The glove box of this car has a capacity of 13L and comes with cooling system. The instrument panel comes with offset AC vents which are curved out in spherical shapes. The car also comes with a lot of safety features.

If the interior of Hyundai i10 is compared with the other small cars of its segment, then one will notice that it is more stylish than the rest of the cars. The interior has been provided with dual tone colour. A very striking feature of this car is the shift gear knob that has been placed on the central console. The dashboard also comes in dual tone and has the three spoke steering wheel with audio controls mounted on it. The digital meter has a beautiful black background and has a digital fuel meter. The seats of the car are quite comfortable and the door handles have chrome inserts.

Toyota has supported Etios Liva with a four cylinder, 1364cc, 8Valve SOHC, D-4D diesel engine which produces a maximum power of 68PS at 3800 rpm and a maximum torque of 170 Nm at 1800-2400rpm. Hyundai i10 has been powered with new 1.1 iRDE2, SOHC, 4-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 69 Ps at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.1 Kgm at 4500 rpm.

In between Etios Liva and i10, Etios Liva will be better as a small car if chosen.
