Japanese auto tycoon Toyota Kirlsokar Pvt Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Galgotias Business School in Greater Noida during the launch of Toyota Sales Education Foundation. The idea behind this step is to develop trained manpower or Sales Officers desirable for Toyota dealerships. A special training program is initiated to guide the students on automotive sales during their graduation period. This training also allows the students to get exposed to automotive sales and also develops a keen interest in students to take up sales as a career.
This program is planned and implemented for interested students of Post Graduate Diploma in management. The program will take up a strength of 40 students offering them an all round training based on a sales module, developed and designed by Toyota Kirloskar Foundation. The program is designed in such a way that it matches Indian educational standards as well as quality benchmark of Toyota.
According to the schedule, 5 hours per week training in the 6th trimester of the course will be given to the students. There will be of 40 hours of theoretical training and 20 hours of practical on the job training specially designed by Toyota Kirloskar Motors. Training modules concerning ‘on the job’ modules will be conducted by Toyota Dealerships. The highlighted subjects would be in context to automotive sales- both soft skills and technical knowhow.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Sailesh Shetty, Vice President, Dealer Development and Sales, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “The launch of TSEF as a special sales training module will enable us to provide the latest automotive sales training to students during their graduation and encourage these students to take up sales as their career. This initiative will also help generate employment opportunities for the students at Toyota Dealerships. This curriculum will help the students to get well versed with Toyota standards and will give them an opportunity to work with experienced officials. We wish to expose the students to latest sales techniques used in the automotive industry, which will go a long way in enhancing their capabilities and give a boost to their careers in the long run.”

This smart step has been introduced by Toyota hand in hand with the decision to expand the vehicle capacity of Toyota in India by 50 per cent. The introduction of this innovative program can be seen as an attempt by Toyota to boost up their sales which have been suffering lately due to hike in interest rates and fuel prices.
