The premium Toyota Land Cruiser launched in Japan sixty years ago has metamorphosed from a basic four-wheel-drive utility vehicle to a high market eight-passenger sport utility vehicle. The car has been a powerful player for more than fifty years in Toyota USA and currently sold in 188 countries.
The New 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser has been upgraded to a more stylish and modern vehicle. The already popular model will receive new impressive features to provide a more polished appeal to the car. The new changes are new driving performance features, safety and convenient features and certain interior changes to match today’s generation customer demands with rear seat DVD entertainment system, colour-keyed rear spoiler, rain-sensing windshield wipers, centre-console cooler box, headlamp cleaners, multi-information display voice, Bluetooth and so on.
The 2013 Land Cruiser exterior provides a whole new modern, trendy appeal, designed with updated front grille and headlamps with HID low- beams. To enhance the significant exterior, the car is remodelled with LED Daytime Running Lights, chrome side moulding, redesigned outer side mirrors and tail lamps, with enlarged front and rear fenders. The model is constructed with Foam-filled A-pillars between windshield and body to reduce wind noise.
The interior is designed to provide a more royal appeal to the car, designed in Sandstone or black, perforated leather trim with ventilated front seats, higher gloss wood grain finish, brighter silver instrument panel ornamentation, chrome-plated air registers and meter clusted lighting. To enhance convenience and comfort, the interiors is designed with Multi-terrain monitor with front, side or rear selectable views, new multi-information display to show gear selection, odometer, tripmeter, fuel consumption, individual tire pressures and cruising range. The vehicles centre features gate-type shifter with shift-mode operation, parking brake, cooler box, USB port and cup holders. The second row seat features a one-touch tumble mechanism for easier entry and exit for third row passengers. To incorporate more people and provide sufficient cabin space, the second row seats slide forward and after 4.1 inches. The second row also provides child friendly facilities with Low Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH).
The new Toyota Land Cruiser is fitted with a shockingly impressive 5.7-litre V8 DOHC engine which churns out 381 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 401 lb-ft torque at 3600 rpm. The highly powerful engine is capable of producing peak torque at just 2,200 rpm. The model uses 87 AKI regular grade gasoline and is ULEV-II certified. The engine is fitted with the V8’s advanced dual independent variable Valve Timing with intelligent (VVT-i) system which controls valve timing and overlap on intake and exhaust valves to optimise power, fuel efficiency and emissions. To facilitate a high torque at high speeds, the Acoustic Control Induction System, switches the length of the tract in two stages, based on RPM and throttle angle. To control oil temperature, the engine is equipped with water-cooled oil cooler.
The model comes with high-end safety features specifically designed to absorb side impacts, the car utilises welded high-strength sheet steel in the A-,B-, C- and D pillars to reduce weight and increase rigidity.
