The world’s auto leader, Toyota Motor has invested a massive £ 68 million (equivalent to about Rs. 672.5 crore) and 5,76,000 hours of time in order to develop the new refreshed Yaris hatchback to help the car beat increasing market competition in the new fashion conscious market. The Japanese car major which has been winning over the consumers for decades with its extremely reliable and safe cars has been recently sweating over its cars to give them a new flashier appeal. The new refreshed 2014 Toyota Yaris has got over 1,000 new body parts offering it an individual exterior visual appeal, a comprehensively restyled cabin, and an array of mechanical tweaks for a more refined ride quality.
The product manager of Toyota’s European wing, Alessandro Massimino said that the Yaris has been always extremely strong in all the logical aspects. With this new model refresh, the company wanted to not only connect the vehicle with the customers’ brains, but with their hearts as well.
On the outside, the new 2014 facelift Yaris primarily gets a more remarkable cross-shaped styling for the front face. The rear design has been also altered with a restyled bumper with integrated diffuser and new LED tail light clusters.
On the inside, the new Yaris gets a more comprehensive overhaul with a new dashboard design and restyled door panels that give the cabin a sleeker appeal. The car also gets new upholstery, more premium interior materials, a larger infotainment display and a new ‘Touch 2′ multimedia system. The new satin chrome trimmings replacing the previous plain chrome ones give the cabin a more premium look and feel, while the cabin becomes more refined with quite with improved noise and vibration levels.
Toyota has also provided a wide range of customization options too with the new Yaris, where buyers can choose from various trim materials, color schemes and wheel designs according to their preference.
The new 2014 refreshed Yaris has also become stronger apart from its skin deep improvement with a modified platform. Toyota has endowed a sturdier chassis to the Yaris by strengthening its materials and construction process.
Toyota has tweaked the hatchback’s suspension as well by endowing new springs and fine tuned dampers for a finer drive quality, while the power steering wheel has been made more responsive. Moreover, Toyota has also improved the gear shifts of the Yaris to offer overall enhanced driving experience.
Under the hood, the new facelift Yaris gets powered by the same engine range consisting of a 1 and 1.33 liter petrol engines, a 1.4 liter diesel engine and a top of the range hybrid powertrain. All the engines get fine tuned with lessened noise and vibration levels.
The features list for the new 2014 Toyota Yaris includes Toyota’s Touch 2 multimedia system, leather seats, LED daytime-running lights, reverse camera with parking assist, auto-folding exterior mirrors, dual-zone climate control and cruise control.
The new refreshed Toyota Yaris will be offered for sale later this year. The new price rage is yet not revealed.
