However, this special EV day was celebrated specially in Toronto.
18th of July, 2013 was the EV Day which was celebrated by lots of events and the showcasing of various EVs as well as hybrid cars. The concept is to spread the notion of green cars to make a difference in the world’s ecosystem. Needless to say that such an event would definitely be joined by Toyota, the world’s pioneer of green cars. Toyota Canada took part in the EV Day and showcased its super fuel saving vehicle in the Japanese auto giant’s range, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid.
The Director of External Affairs at Toyota Canada Inc. Sandy Di Felice said that the Prius PHV’s extensive electric range makes it the most green city car. The Prius Plug-in Hybrid car offers up to 25 kilometers of all electric driving, which can cater to the typical daily Canadian commuting requirements without using a single drop of petrol.
On the EV Day, 18th July, Toyota showcased its Prius Plug-in Hybrid to the attendees in order to draw their attention to this great and globally acclaimed green car and provide all the information that a potential customers needs. Those who attended the event also got the chance to check the inside out and take a test drive in order to witness the actual driving pleasures of this superior Hybrid car and check its various driving modes.
Under the hood, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid packs in a very efficient and maintenance free lithium-ion battery that can easily be recharged in just 3 hours from a standard household outlet, or within an hour from a 220 volt dedicated socket. When fully charged, the Prius can run up to 62 miles or 100 kilometers not using a single drop of the fossil fuel.
The green commutation campaign was celebrated in the form of the EV Day that had taken place at downtown Toronto at the Yonge-Dudnas Square. The event started 9 o’clock in the morning o 18th July, 2013 and featured free admission for all EV enthusiasts.
The Toyota Prius is the world’s first hybrid vehicle that was offered to the mass consumers. Ever since the launch of the Prius, Toyota never had to bother about the volumes of the hybrid car as the vehicle was an instant success and kept on growing in popularity.
