According to the reports, the world’ highest selling car company Toyota is ready to come up with some new cars in the coming few year’s time in order to impress the global auto audience and of course to reinstate its market dominance.
The Japanese car major is expected to be presenting a slew of upgrades to its models in the North American car market. The company will be providing multiple redesigned and facelift cars over the next 2 to 3 years’ time. The world’s auto leader is also said to be replacing few of the old models in the coming with some futuristic contemporary models.
As far as the mini and compact car segments are concerned, Toyota is expected to replace the Yaris with a brand new model based on the platform of the Mazda 2. This new car could be sold in the market as a sedan and is expected to debut as a completely new car sometime in the year 2015.
The Japanese car maker as already revealed its next generation all new Corolla sedan, and it is all set to hit the car market during this winter. On the other hand, the ongoing model of Matrix will have its last lap in this year in the car market of the U.S., while it may still be available in the auto market of Canada for at least another year.
As per the report, Toyota has also shelved the plans to introduce a convertible as well as a turbocharged model for the Scion FR-S, as the introduction of these two models will involve a lot of cost that is not sensible for the limited volumes. As, Toyota has already introduced a close to production, convertible version model of the GT 86/ FR-S, thus it cannot be surely told as yet whether or not the company has taken a sure decision in cancelling this project. The reports also indicate that the Supra coupe is being developed by Toyota in association with BMW.
As far as the medium and large car segments are concerned, the Toyota Camry is supposed to receive a refresh in the year 2014.
The Toyota RAV4 may get upgraded with the company’s speculated 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine later sometime, while the Sienna minivan is speculated to be replaced towards the end of 2016, and so will the 4Runner SUV. Other cars such as the Sequoia SUV and Tacoma could also be refreshed in 2014.
As for the Hybrid vehicles that are almost synonymous with the Toyota brand name, the company is expected to bring in the new Prius liftback early in 2015 with an innovative and more powerful technology under its hood.
Toyota is also known to be extremely focused on the development of the Fuel Cell technology and is expected to bring in more than one car that is powered by hydrogen in the year 2015. The HFC fuel cell vehicle is expected in the beginning of 2015 followed by more of its siblings.
