For Toyota’s brilliant models of Prius range, the month of July, 2013 has been really a good time in the US car market. Toyota Motor USA has reportedly sold 23,294 of Prius vehicles in the month of July, 2013 as against the same month in the previous year, when the company managed to sell 16,643 units of the Prius cars. This huge amount of sales number jump has accounted for almost a 40 percent increase in the sales rates for the Prius range in the US market.
In the month of July 2013, the standard Prius Liftback sedan recorded a sale of 15,252 units, while the larger Prius V recorded a sale of 3,428 vehicles and the smaller Prius C managed to find 3,797 takers. On the other hand, the Toyota Prius Hybrid Plug-in model recorded a sale of 817 units.
However, July is probably the only very positive month for the sales numbers of the Toyota Prius cars. While the July sales were excellent, the same is not that true for the rest of the months of this year. During the first 7 months in the year in 2012, the sales of the Prius range was better as compared to the present year. Only the Prius C is the one Prius model that has experienced a sales increase so in the year 2013, accounting a total 26.2 percent increase. As far as the other three Prius variants are concerned, the sedan as well as the plug-in hybrid variants have witnessed slightly down sales rates in the first 7 months of this year as compared against the previous year, while the Prius V has suffered a 14.6 percent decline in its sales rates compared to 2012.
For the global auto sector leader Toyota, its range of Prius cars have contributed quite well in the US car market, especially in the month of July. As far as the cumulative sale of the month of July is concerned, Toyota witnessed a sale of total 193,394 units including the Lexus and the Scion models. These sales figures have recorded a 12.6 percent jump as compared to the cumulative sales during the same month in the year 2012 on the basis of daily sales and 17.3 percent raise during the 25 selling days in July 2013 against the 24 selling days in the same month, last year.
The Toyota Prius range of models has been growing in popularity in the recent times owing to its great quality, innovative technology and consumer convenience. The Prius is also one among the six hybrid models that are sold in the present times in the car market of California.
It is also a known fact that the Toyota Prius has already crossed the sales mark of 3 million units very recently, and looking at the amount of its popularity and the pace at which its demand is growing in momentum it is well expected that the Prius will achieve new heights of success.
