Toyota Kirloskar Motor introduced the all new Camry Hybrid in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs. 29.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Though the Indian car market is not still a place for the green cars and even the much acclaimed and world favorite Toyota Prius Hybrid does not sell much in India, Toyota has gone ahead with the launch of its second hybrid model in the country. The all new Toyota Camry Hybrid is also the company’s first locally made hybrid offering in India. The company has done this in order to evade the sky high import duties and keep the price tag more on the affordable side. Though the price of the Camry hybrid is still very steep for the general Indian mass, there’s no denying that this fabulous car is well worth every penny and it is more so as the car is eco-friendly and also helps in saving fuel costs.
The exteriors looks of this brilliant green luxury sedan is obviously richly endowed by the Japanese car major. In its current seventh generation avatar, the Camry looks incredibly glamorous, classy, urban and enticing in every way. On top of that the Hybrid version of the car is made to look even more appealing with its added style elements.
The front fascia of the car is designed very smartly with a stunning front grill and swept back large headlight clusters with HID lamps. The bright fog lamps and the wide air dam further add to the appeal. The overall design of the car has great flowing lines that make it look very sleek and smooth. The side profile of the car is kept equally appealing with a flowing design that is heightened by body colored OVRMs with LED side turn indicators. A lot of chrome treatments on the door handles and styling elements on the front and back adds to the classy looks. The rear design of the car is neat and is highlighted with LED tail lamps clusters and the prominent Hybrid logo that distinguishes it from the regular counterpart. The Camry Hybrid thus, has very sophisticated and charming looks that is bound to spellbound the beholder’s mind.
On the inside, the all new Toyota Camry Hybrid has a lavish and plush interior that is spacious enough to accommodate 4 hefty adults with abundant space. The seating arrangement is extremely comfortable, with luxurious reclining leather seats. The hybrid gets loads of luxury features including a three-zone climate control system, power adjustable driver’s seat, wooden finish interior trimmings, premium upholstery, premium leather wrapped multi-function power steering wheel, gear lever and parking brake and smart entry with start/stop push button among many others.
The all new Toyota Camry Hybrid is powered by advanced 2494 cc petrol engine with an enhanced power delivery of 160PS and a peak torque of 213Nm. This is obviously coupled with a powerful electric motor which makes for an added power delivery of 143PS and 270Nm. The car is operated by Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system that is a benchmark in itself.
