The Japanese Motors Indian Subsidiary Toyota Motors stated that it will enhance its exports from the nation with another 5000 numbers in the fiscal year 2013. The company will be exporting more than 25000 coupes in this fiscal year. As compared to this year, the exports of last year amounted to 20000 coupes.
The MD and CEO of Toyota Kirloskar, Mr. Sandeep Singh stated that the exports of the company mainly include Etios and Liva as per the sidelines of the SIAM yearly agreement. At present the company is mainlyfocussing on its exports. However, the market of export is equally not good, as the value of foreign currency has also depreciated.
At present, the brand exports its products and components to South Africa. It has shipped its very first order to Indonesia just few days back. Singh further stated that the company has dispatched a trial consignment to Indonesia which is completely new market for Toyota. The company has received an order of over 2200 coupes from the nation and it has successfully completed it.
With respect to the hike in price, Singh stated that it the present condition of the fall in the Indian currency continues then the company may pass on the marginal profit burden to its customers. Toyota has opted for a price increment on its Camry and Fortuner series but 1% lately. However, if rupee continues to fall down in the similar pattern, the company may opt for a price increment from the month of October.
Being optimistic about the coming time, he further said that the market will see a great pick up in the sale of cars in the coming festive season. Trade analyst have monitored and explained that the festive season will show an expansion of 8 to 10% in the automotive market as compared to the previous month sales.
Though the sale of the company fell by 6.3%in the last month and amounted to 15,201 numbers in comparison to 16,225 numbers that was sold last year in the similar month.
The fall in the Indian currency is the major reason for the low sale of the company. However, with increase in the exports, the company can easily cover its domestic loss. Toyota has always been an active exporter of its products, but with the fall in the value of rupee, it has switched to more exports.
The optimistic behaviour of the coming for the coming festive season will probably increase the domestic sales of the company. It will surely add more to the sales of the company and increase its market share. It will stand against competition to its contemporaries. The brand is focussing on the manufacture of new products that will cater to meet the requirement and demand of the domestic as well as international products.
The products will be designed keeping the new technology, fuel efficiency and price hike of the coupes. We shall further discuss about the export dealing of the company as the company makes any move in this segment.
