Toyota and Ford-Competing for the prestigious top brand position

Toyota is a world renowned car brand, headquartered in Japan; the company has explored new and futuristic technologies. The launch of Prius and Camry hybrid are symbols of its novel technology creations. Ford is also among the top selling auto brands, the company is based in Dearborn city of Michigan. The company has recorded admirable profits with its trendy Focus model, and has released around 589,709 pieces of the car from the January to June period. According to Erich Merkle, a top industry analyst of the company, Ford has noted an impressive 20% increase.

Ford cars are popular in India; the company has recently launched its stunning EcoSport SUV. The customer response has been amazing; the car has overtaken the dominant SUV image of Duster. The car has stiffened the competition in this segment. The Figo is a creatively designed hatch in India and is also branded the most awarded car in the country.

Toyota is also a grand auto figure in India, some of its premium models are Etios, and Etios Liva. The overflowing success of these models has enabled the company to manufacture Exclusive editions of both cars. In the SUV category, the Fortuner has created a stellar image and is frequently used as an army vehicle, and draped in bullet proof material. The car is manufactured with turbo engines with a world class engine cooling technology. This is the secret behind the car to travel massive distances without any signs of an overheated engine.

The Corolla is one of Toyota’s extremely popular models, and portrays an exclusively exotic stance. Ford Focus has ripped apart the number one position of Corolla and now stands on top of the most desired car list. It would be interesting to observe if Focus can continue with its number one status this year.

Toyota is a more established brand in overseas segment, according to Merkle, the company has gained admirable profits in Chinese markets. Its sale output in China was around 202,380 volumes during the initial periods of 2013. A fresh version of Focus was launched in Chinese markets, and it has been just a year since its launch.

The sale output of Focus is not too impressive in US markets, with just a 1% increase at 188,654 pieces in September. The profit turnover of the car in US is over 8% in initial three quarters. These figures were released by the Autodata Corporation Group.

Ford had to close down its established Michigan Assembly Unit in the outskirts of Detroit. Toyota was also not too fortunate with the sale of Corolla, the main reason being an old model was up for sale, which was not new at all, and was a five year old car. Only recently, a new and more stylish version of the car was launched to replace the five year old model.

Ford is the top auto brand in US, in India Ford and Toyota are on equal par. Toyota is however a more well known brand. The Corolla, Fortuner, Etios, and Liva have contributed heaps of profits to the company. The EcoSport and Figo have worked well for Ford in India. Both brands have generated impressive models.
