Toyota is always eager to offer new and better product offerings to the world’s auto consumers. Thus, the Japanese auto leader has launched a new all 4 wheels drive variant of its competent RAV4 diesel in the car market of Europe. The all wheels drive option model will be available only on the latest 2014 Toyota RAV4 that offers a new Euro 5 compatible 2.0 liter D4D turbocharged diesel motor along with the company’s Integrated Dynamic Drive System of All Wheel Drive technology.
The powerful diesel engine of the AWD variant of the 2014 RAV4 has the same specifications that of Forward Wheel Drive variant of the vehicle. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power output of 124PS and a peak torque of 310Nm. The engine is coupled with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox for an enhanced on-road performance. The car emits a total of 136gm of CO2 per km.
Though all these details of the AWD option are out, Toyota has yet not announced the fuel efficiency of the new variant. The front wheel drive variant of the new 2014 RAV4 gets the same mill that offers around 4.9 l/100 km of mileage, and has lesser emission rates at 127gm of CO2 every kilometer.
The best part of the 4 wheel drive variant of the Toyota RAV4 is the Integrated Dynamic Drive System that lets the engine in even torque distribution to all the 4 wheels of the vehicle when the driving condition requires it, while keeping all the power to the front wheels on normal driving condition, and this ensures enhanced fuel efficiency.
Apart from the competent 4WD diesel variant, the 2014 Toyota RAV4 also offers a host of new and improved features. These include the introduction of a new exterior body color option of Dark Brown Metallic along with new interior color and new interior trimmings. The car also gets the more attractive new 10 spoke 18 inch alloy wheels, and there are also several new designs available for the 18 inch alloy wheel to choose from in the front wheel drive variant of the vehicle.
The new 2014 Toyota RAV4 offers 4 different color combinations for its interior to cater to the preferences of the customers. These are namely Terracotta, Black, Grey, and the newly introduced Beige interiors. The car gets to keep its old Black fabric and Grey leather interior upholstery in the new model as well.
The new 2014 Toyota RAV4 also gets new and updated equipments. The vehicles’ Touch 2 multimedia system comes with a new 6 inch color WVGA touchscreen with a sharper display, a Drag and Flick function, and has now added six other languages. The car also gets the optional features of Smart Entry, power-operated tailgate, and an advanced new JBL Premium audio system with 9 speakers. The new Geneva ‘Premium’ trim model gets additional sparkling chrome garnish on the rear side skirting and on the tailgate. The vehicle is also equipped by the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system.
