The Toyota Prado comes under the land cruiser range and is produced by the Japanese car maker, Toyota Motor Corporation. The Prado is actually one of the smaller automobiles in this range of vehicles. Below is a review of the same.
Features
This one comes with a camera at the rear and the wheel has been increased to 17 inches with alloy wheels. The audio controls have been installed on the steering wheel and the stereo system has been upgraded to a six speaker system. The exterior mirrors can be heated and are also retractable. It also has LED head lights along with the radar cruise control, and also a blind zone warning system. And yes, the second row seats can also be warmed up to a certain level. There are also three wireless headphones provided in some models.
The Design
The nose of the car is quite unusually styled and the grille in the front looks very over sized. The new Prado gets the trailer sway control and there is also a digital display system that is placed in between the analogue instruments.
There is some good news for big families that like riding in this car together. The seating in the third row has been provided in a manner that access to the same is much easier as the second row seats have been provided with a wider opening.
The Technology
The car comes with all the high end technology which one would expect on a car such as a Prado, though some of the technology might not be available on the low end models of the car. The features like hill crawl modes, along with a camera in the front might be missing in such low end models.
The 4.0 liter petrol V6 along with the 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine with four cylinders have been kept unchanged and they are present just like they have been in other Prado models over the years.
The Driving Experience
The latest range of the Prado is much quieter when compared with the previous models as the car maker has added some noise deadening between the engine bay and the cabin. The driving experience of the car, nonetheless, stays the same as there are no visible changes in either the steering or the suspension.
The higher models of the car come armed with the famed KDSS system that works as a smoothening factor while driving on bumpy roads. The body of the car is quite tall and narrow making it a challenge to drive while turning at the corners. Since the tires are quite chunky, for a smooth drive on the desert, they do not hold much grip while driving on the asphalt ridden roads. Toyota Prado price in USA is quite on the same lines as it is in the rest of the world though there are differences when it comes to the different models of the car.
Verdict
All in all, this is a very decent car to drive with almost everything that one would look for in a cruiser.
