First drive – The 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

The all new Land Cruiser Prado from Toyota has been launched in India, and would be a redesigned version of the luxury SUV at the cost of Rs. 84.87 lakh. The vehicle would be made available in five different Colours and the SUV has been offered a significant facelift with newly crafted grille, LED headlamps, fog lamps, daytime running lights, garnish on the rear end license plate etc.

The Prado is expected to be welcomed with high regards from its customers and has been going great since its launch in the year 2004. The car appeals to the buyers of both the SUVs and other luxury car buyers owing to its all-terrain and luxury interface, coupled with a combination of interior luxury and maneuverability. Specifications of Land Cruiser Prado:

The vehicle has undergone significant revisions on the styling, safety and also up gradations on the technology. It manages to maintain its old 4 liter petrol engine and 3 liter turbo diesel engines. The most noticeable change in the new version is the teardrop style headlight cluster equipped either with halogen or LED headlamps. According to the sources from Toyota, the vehicle has enhanced its front end style and has increased the length of both its 3 door and 5 door models, without altering its 32 degrees off road approach angle and its turning radius. At the rear end, the tail light clusters are pronounced with an ambient and clear red lens and have a prominent garnish on the license plate.

The vehicle has adapted a 17 and 18 inch alloy wheel option, though there is also an option of steel wheels available along with variations in its complete exterior body. Under the metal skin, the new face lifted version of the Land Cruiser Prado adapts a new upper panel at its center console, a new on and off road driving control switch panel and a new meter design that gets portrayed through a 4.2 inch TFT multi touch information display depicted on the instrument binnacle. The vehicle also features an enhanced door trim and ornamentation protocol, enhanced dashboard, second and third row designs incorporated with new interior color schemes etc.

Considering the seating arrangements on the interiors of the vehicle, the forward folding angle of the seats at the second row has been enhanced to 46 degrees enhancing the ease of entry and exit for passengers at the third row seat. The seat heating facility has become available for second row seat passengers as well. The vehicle also incorporates a number of safety features such as EBD, ABS, Airbags, emergency brake signal, trailer sway control etc. the sales of the new face lifted version of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado would begin later in fall and the world premier sales show of the vehicle is expected to start by September at the Frankfurt motor show.
