And thus, there’s no end of further and greater expectations from the global consumers’ side for Toyota to develop even more advanced vehicles that will leave everyone flabbergasted.
There have a lot of speculations about Toyota working on a new Supra model. A lot of car aficionados have been really wishing to see the revival of the Toyota Supra and they have been enquiring about the same too. However, the Japanese car major has always remained quiet about it and always stayed reserved. Toyota had recently hinted about the its interest in offering something like the FR-S or the GT86 soon for the global Toyota fans and it is also known that the car makers has also entered into a joint venture with the luxury car maker BMW to make a new sports car. Nevertheless, the company still remains mostly ambiguous and its officials refuse to reveal anything about the confirmation of any further developments.
However, it must be said that the auto journalists are very capable and determined as well. The team of an auto portal has finally managed to take out some information recently regarding the Supra which should come as a delight for the Supra aficionados. As per the auto portal a few of the high Toyota officials have finally admitted at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show that the car maker is planning to shock the globe’s audience with a brand new Supra concept car for the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.
While the good thing is that Toyota is actually working on a new much anticipated Supra, the sad thing is that Toyota has not disclosed anything more regarding this. No other details were mentioned, and there was no indication also about whether this new Supra concept is based on the FT-HS concept that was showcased back in the year 2007 or it is something completely new and even more stunning. Of course, when Toyota says that it is going to ‘shock’ the world with its new Supra concept car, then it can be said that it will be something very new and mind blowing.
The question remains, as to why Toyota is coming up with a new Supra concept car right now when it had waited so long? The answer is very clear; the Honda Acura NSX. In fact Honda’s American wing has already gone ahead and unveiled the Acura NSX concept car and the next-gen Acura sports is will be coming in 2015. When Honda has already done so much to ignite the excitement of the car fanatics, how can Toyota stay far?
It will be a great thing to see these two Japanese rivals fight with their amazing super cars. This rivalry will only offer more awesome cars; so it’s a win-win situation for all the car lovers out there.
