The Indian auto market is being flooded with a lot of cool launches from the auto behemoths operating in the domestic market. Tough market competition and a particularly lengthy slump has prompted the auto makers to come up with their best shot at the new and exciting car models to enthrall and attract the Indian car consumers.
Last year saw the launch of many new cars in India, and this year the number of launches will be even bigger. The Indian car market has come a long way from its basic needs of fuel efficient, convenient and cost effective cars. Though fuel efficiency and price are still greatly considered by the Indian car buyers, their needs have evolved over time. Now, India is keener on bigger, more luxurious and feature rich cars, and thus the rising popularity of the more expensive SUV and sedans in the domestic market. Good quality cars along with great style, features and performance are in vogue in India and the car majors are trying to supply just that.
The world’s auto leader Toyota offers only the Corolla Altis and the Etios sedan in the Indian sedan segment that is increasingly growing. There is place vacant in-between these two Toyota models that can be filled by another Toyota sedan. And this is the very competent Toyota Vios sedan that is very popular in the international car markets.
The higher midsized sedan segment in India has a lot of cars that is currently ruled by the Hyundai Verna. All of a sudden there is a lot of happening in this segment, as the launch of the all new Honda City has created a huge wave. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to launch its new SX4 sedan replacer this year to further increase competition. Considering this, it would be a good move for Toyota to bring in the stunning and capable Vios. The new Vios has made it to Malaysia quite recently and now, India might get this car as well.
The Toyota Vios is a looker with a very stylish front fascia along with a large grille and edgy headlights and a huge dollop of chrome garnishing. The new Vious is a bigger sedan as against its predecessor that offers enhanced interior space. It has a length that is really impressive in the mid-size sedan class. The car offers all the great features of being a Toyota vehicle. Along with great reliability, features and space, the new Vios comes with great plush interiors and a more premium look and feel. It also comes with all the world class features including touch screen infotainment system, Bluetooth, reverse camera, Voice recognition system and many more.
In India, the Toyota Vios could be powered by the diesel mill of the Etios and also the petrol engine that does the duty for the Corolla Altis.
Toyota may consider bringing the Vios towards the end of this year, with the expected price range of Rs 8 to 12 lakh.
