2015 Toyota Camry versus 2014 Honda Accord – Packed with style and power

Toyota is a top brand in luxury car segment and has emerged with classic launches like Corolla, Camry and Prius. Honda too has invested a fair bit in this segment with City, Accord and CR-V. There is no better feeling than to own a luxury car, there are too many options to chose from, let us compare what the current modern car demographic fantasizes about 2015 Toyota Camry and 2014 Honda Accord.

Exteriors:

Camry and Accord are in the dream lavish car list, and the 2014 Camry looks great, with a superior style statement than its predecessor. The exterior feature that accentuates its overall grand image is the classic grille design on XSE and SE variants.

Accord is appreciated for its sophisticated décor, the 2014 model is a continuation of Honda’s legacy in terms of style and sophistication, and the style trend used is coupe body style.

Interiors:

The two cars sport captivating decors, with professionally designed dashboard, centre console and fine leather cushion. Camry has a marvellous 4.2 inch TFT display, Optitron gauges, wireless smartphone charging in centre console. The big screen has easy to use buttons, and the cushions are tailored with refined French made upholstery.

The insides of 2014 Accord is simple and elegant but not a head turner, the instrument panel is not strategically positioned and is placed on lower level. Controls are fitted at a higher level. 2015 Camry has more to offer in terms of interiors.

2014 Honda Accord

Engine:

The 2015 Camry has the same engine used in earlier model; it is fitted with robust four cylinder 2.5 litre engine that pumps out 170 pound feet torque and 178 hp. The other optional engine used is V6 3.5 liter power train coupled with six speed automatic transmission gearbox. The hybrid car has Atkinson cycle four cylinder 2.5 liter electric engine and robust nickel metal hydride battery. The electric engine generates enormous powers of 200hp.

Accord is fitted with four cylinder 2.4 litre engine that emits 181 lb ft torque and 185hp. The engine is matted to (CVT) continuously variable transmission or six speed manual gearbox. The hybrid car runs on plug in power, and does not have an electric engine.

Performance:

Accord offers among the best performances in posh car segment, automotive journalists have placed the car in high performer list. Camry does not offer enough punch to glide on the roads. It is a good performer, but sufficient enough to offer the thrill of a great drive. The CEO of Toyota Akio Toyda is keen to bring in more ride rhythm in 2015 Camry. The company has introduced an additional XSE sporty trim.

Price:

Toyota has not yet announced the price of 2015 Camry, the initial price of the 2014 model costs $23,235, the high end XLE V6 car is priced at $31,515. The starting price of 2014 Accord is $22,745 for LX variant and the most loaded car costs $34,270.

2015 Camry and 2014 Accord are classic models to look forward to, Camry has phenomenal styling and magnificent interiors, and Accord is garnished with sophistication and elegant but mundane interiors and offers better drive vigour than Camry.
