The competition level in Indian car market has intensified like never before with a string of new launches from all quarters. Apart from new hatchbacks, sedans, SUV’s and MPV’s there are new Cross launches. A car to look forward to is Etios Cross and its fierce contender is Volkswagen Polo Cross. The launch date of Etios Cross is tomorrow the 9th of May.
The interiors of Volkswagen Polo look premium, and the fabric material used is top notch and scratch resistant. The gear knob and steering wheel are draped in premium leather, and the seat dimension is wider than the regular Polo car to offer additional comfort, and the upholstery material used is refined Livon titanium. The insides of Etios Cross are similar to its hatch sibling Etios Liva, the primary variation lies in its Cross identity. Etios Cross has a piano black inner décor theme, different from the grey or beige interiors used in other Toyota models. The instrument cluster sports a unique design with a world class in built music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. There are audio controls on steering. The seats are super comfy, and there are electrically adjustable outer rear view mirrors. The fitments of parking sensors are a boon to park in congested spots. The back seats are foldable and the split ratio capacity is 60:40.

Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Polo Cross are engineered with high-end safety features. Polo Cross has speed sensitive power steering wheels that respond quickly. The other robust safety features are electronic engine immobilizer, height adjustable headrests, under body guard. During emergency circumstances the EBD and ABS offers superior handling when hard brakes are applied. There are a couple of airbags in front on all four power windows, high mounted stop lamp and central locking.
Toyota has tailored the Etios Cross with maximum safety points, the dual front supplement restraint system works as cushion for neck and head during the event of harsh rear, side or front impact. The key features are central locking system, immobilizer system, EBD and ABS. The front wheels have disc brakes and back wheels have robust drum brakes.
The two cars are equally powerful with regard to advanced safety technology and world class interior decor. The new Etios Cross will cost Rs 5 to 7.7lakhs and Volkswagen Cross Polo is priced at Rs 7.76 lakhs. The two cars are great buys to encounter a different car feel. Driving a cross car is exciting, because these cars are sportier than regular cars.
